MVP of the game
oooooh... I can't believe I just found this thread

I will reply in full within 48 hours

But here's a short reply:

The game has the potential to self-regulate:

Releasing system bot players average 35+ from ZERO on auction. (Replacing them with 25+ players to avoid forfeits, and DE-VALUING the market). The TRUE value includes the supply of ALL teams, including system bot teams.

Higher interest rates for borrowing. Lower rates for saving.

Progressive taxation for players costing more than £100 Million.

Yearly Stadium Accessories 'maintenance' cost for Division 3 and above.

Increase available supply of players

However, the only long term solution is to REDUCE THE SUPPLY OF MONEY. Sounds easy, but maintaining the correct balance will be a like running an orchestra.

External to the self-regulation, a sinkhole for money of some sort must be created. I think somebody mentioned it earlier: Something that costs money, but can never make money.

I believe the correct balance would be the average amount of money spent on a stadium over the course of a season.

Also, new teams spend the £2 million they receive. - They could be taxed on player purchases, and provided cash incentives to invest in their stadia. That way, if they leave the game, the excess cash produced leaves the game too, and doesn't contribute to yet MORE inflation. Depending on the spending habits of new managers, and compared to their drop-out rate from the game, it could potentially explain a lot (though not all)

@Soli also made a good point about Fidelity.

Lowering the bulk of Fidelity for future players is definitely a great idea.

As for all the little ideas I have heard in general... NOT GOOD.

Inflation is a long term thing, that must be solved with long term, and LARGE SCALE solutions.

Too many little changes here and there will have negligible effects, but will alter the fabric of this game.

We can't forget that the aim is to change inflation - Not the game.

And regarding @Reb's point, of having expenditure equalling two home games - I have mine set at one home game (Least I try to), the level of inflation aimed needs to hit an agreed upon level, taking the average DIVISION 1 teams earnings.

I think ABC has a good point.

I don't care about anything else that was said - I'm totallly cherrypicking the first sentence of that post. First time someone's agreed with my point - ever!

On an on-topic note, @Reb or any other @, is there a master suggestion's compilation list? Is there an ETA when any of the suggestions will be implemented? I'm not holding anyone to a timeline. I know that no promises were made, I'm just curious if the powers-that-be are listening to some of the good suggestions (and yes, all of mine are good, and some others mentioned a few good ones also)!

Golden Ball

I'm going to collect them soon and submit them. Then maybe put it down to a few simple ones that can be implemented soon or at end of season.

We got the game rules revised, so I guess anything is possible.

Child's coach
I am sorry, but I am not going to read all this thread and don`t know if someone already mentioned, but I think it will be good idea to pay starting fee at the start of the season, if you won`t have money you will pay every week to the end of the season. Cost will be higher with higher division. Only my idea. Maybe limit income from tickets and put more significance on sponsor money, and there will be only limited amount of sponsors in every category like in real life. You have to be more competitive. 09/02/2012 13:31

First-team player
I have not read all of this thread and don`t know if someone already mentioned, so here goes:

(home grown here refers to players in junior squad bought before or at the age of 16 or coming through schools)
introduce a mandatory quota of home grown players. like in a senior squad of 25 players there has to be atleast 10 home grown players. teams can be fined if they do not fulfill this criteria. this will make people think before paying over the tops for a player and thus rather invest in training juniors and schools.
