Salary cap would do two things (imo, if you see it otherwise, say so)

1) take less money out of system
2) keep escape clauses low.

Transfer agreements would be a thing of the past.

Thinking about it there's a very easy way to control inflation, we only really have one commodity here and that's the players.

Increase the progression of players from schools by x% and increase their starting average into the high 30's.

Many more people will invest in schools, which will act to remove money from the game. Also the supply of high progression players will overwhelm demand, thus lowering the price. If you wanted to go still farther then you could bring back free players and increase the progression of these players as well. It would probably take a season or two to really bite.

Then if you found you'd gone too far you could always lower the progression and average until you found the place where you want to be.

End of the day, I wouldn't pay 20m for a 90 FC junior GK if I know I can build a couple of high or excellent schools and get that GK, a couple of CF's and a bunch of mids and defenders.

Forcing minimum junior roster may decrease demand of juniors (you can have max of 4 of one position)

Alternatively, it will slow training... (thinking out loud, per se)

could someone please tell me the issue here?

is there a real problem here? I mean, is this game growing its manager numbers - ie successful!

I hear there has been mega inflation on the much older Spanish server. What has been the effect on manager numbers over there?

This thread started with the question of what can be done vs inflation. So i guess people worried about how soon till the 1st £billion player?

Thinking this inflation through is it a bad thing long term, i'm not sure it matters.

I am prob being stupid so i am sorry but please tell me in a game why inflation is a problem

inflation is not a problem, hyper inflation is.

If new player starts at 2M, but inflation is running at 1000%, then the new players will be quickly priced out of game and discouraged. It's impossible to stop inflation... but having 2B escape clauses becoming routine after next 12 months will be a bit ridiculous.

We're not going to solve problem with this thread, but it does open a dialogue and explore possibilities that may be implemented before too much time goes by.

I think schools could definetely be the key here, it's like a tap where you can turn on and off the supply when you want.

Max of 4 of one position would probably need to be lower. That still allows me 2LF, 2RF and a mix of 2 LF/2RF on the bench, eight players total.

Re slow training - Just increase junior training to compensate.

I think the problem is how hard it is for new players to get a decent team together. If the supply of new managers drys up because it's too hard to get a foothold then the game goes down the pan.
