Many lower division teams get knocked out of the Striker Cup very early.... What is the feasibility of creating a second cup called the Silver Cup or something like that, for teams that have been knocked out before a certain stage of the Striker Cup. This Cup will not aim to replace the Striker Cup, which I believe is perfect as it is - But it should be what the Carling Cup is to the F.A. Cup, or what the Europa League is to the Champions League Also, this 'Silver Cup' can ignore all System Bots, making it a much smaller competition for as many people as logistically possible. Thoughts? |

Very good idea but you won't get much support as all the top teams who make the decisions don't get knocked out in the first few rounds :/ | 21/12/2011 10:59 |

I think it is a good idea and also it can be made that way. Some teams will play only Silver Cup and some will be automatically selected into Striker Cup. As it is in Europe. | 21/12/2011 11:08 |

To be honest though, I'm still in favour of the Striker Cup STAYING open to all! That way it keeps it's prestige, of who is the best in all of SM. The Silver Cup is more of an "It's about taking part: crap lol.. Like the Carling Cup or the LDV Vans Trophy! hahahaha |

Great idea! I think something should make the two different - like higher financial incentive in one of the cups. | 21/12/2011 17:41 |

Interesting idea. How do you propose to combat the inevitable massive increase in the money flow? Would this cup also provide sponsor bonus, home stadium TV rights, full/near full stadium ticket sales (compared to friendlies, which are the only option now once knocked out of the Striker Cup)? If so, I think you'll have a tough sell to the developers. Lets say I play 3 rounds of the Striker Cup, with one at home, and am knocked out. Then I play 5 games in the Silver Cup (call it whatever), with 3 at home. That's an additional, let's say as a guesstimate around 10 million total for me - including split ticket sales, sponsor bonus, tv rights, and subtracting the cost of what I'd earn via friendlies. The developers rightly want to control runaway inflation, and this idea seems contrary to that objective. Again, it's an interesting idea, and one that I'd support, provided the money situation is adequately resolved, and the outstanding bugs are taken care of also. Fixing that which is broken > creating new scenarios, in my opinion. Just my $0.02. |
