Check out the above player. He has hardly increased at all this season because I screwed over by the guy I loaned him to. I offered him up on loan and had a dozen managers (at least) ask to take him. I asked them all how often they were planning on training OMs and one guy said that he would base his entire junior team around my OM - play him every game and train him 7 days a week. After a load of emails back and forth where I told him the training plan I would like to see and he agreed to it and where I gave him loads of hints for improving his team's chances, I eventually decided to help out a new player and lent him my OM. I wish I hadn't.

My player gets trained 3 or 4 times a week most of the time. The manager has just got back on to SM after a week of inactivity where he wasn't training anyone. When I called him on it at the start of the season he just acted stupid and said he was training 7 days a week - my player was getting +0.001.

In almost two years of SM this is the only loan deal that I have had go bad so it isn't too bad a record. I do want to be able to help noobs in future by providing players who could help win games and increase the rest of the team's motivation while I get them trained. It would just be nice if there was some protection available for me, though.

Haha!

But it would be nice if there could be a feature where each manager can review another manager on their skill in training loanees. Better training means you have a higher reputation or point system so other managers would be more willing to loan to that person. While if they screw up a loan, then they'll get negative marks or reviews from his peers.

I could see it this starting as a forum topic first lol. I'm just clutching at straws here.

would just turn into a popularity contest, if you fell out with a manager even if he trained your player well you would give him a low mark

True, true.

Shame though. It would have been really neat. Just goes to show things like having a contract with another manager to train your player is rather useless as people will always find loopholes.

Which is why I appreciate the loan system the way it is. Be careful with who you loan to. If you make a mistake, learn from it.

I agree with this - I don't think it's something that needs to be arbitrated.
I also think that the best suggestion so far would be a loans tab under a teams transfers. Yes, I know the information is already there on the sales tab, but say if you only wanted to go back two seasons, that can be a lot of pages back, and if you get an offer from many teams, for several players, this could take a very long time!

Then the owner shouldn't care about to the player after he has been loaned 11/09/2013 12:19

he should. when someone makes a deal, he makes a deal.

and the young players are like an investement! nobody has the right to destroy a great player..

especially telling lies.

if anyone cannot cooperate with that, he should not borrow!!

Can I liken this debate to the real world? Just say one of the big teams in England loan a player to a team in a lower league it is done with a few principles in mind. The team who is loaning the player expects the player to be played, trained and paid by the loaning team. The loaning team expects the player to improve their starting 11. When this happens properly everyone is happy and the the club who loaned the player gets a good reputation for treating loaned players well. If not then everyone knows about it.

I would love to see SM have a similar view on loans. In eBay if someone is a good seller or buyer you leave them positive feedback. If not then you leave negative feedback. I would love to see this implemented in SM after a loan period ended - the ability to let everyone know about your positive as well as negative loan deals. Leave a positive or negative vote and a short message. It wouldn't be abused as you could only get a maximum of 6 pieces of feedback a season and only from people your loaned from.

The borrower can ask the owner of the player to reduce his salary. And if he agrees, then you can have the player at 50k salary rather then at 1.5m salary

Then why loan out the player? Just to help some poor team out?.
95% of managers loan the player to lower div teams so the player can play as many games as possible, which aswell helps out the borrowing team by improving the squad for that season
