We can a forum for tactics, where the tactics experts can analyse some games and some recommendations.

I have already or am going to give two formations to RFM members.

As for tactics that should be negotiated in installments.

Tactics are hard to "give out" based on the fact that the game is a dynamic environment. No one tactics shall work against all. We all value different formations, based on strengths, likes, availability, etc... It is your choice to make. But, I think we can have a good discussion, which should help everyone make their decisions.

Let's review strikers for a minute...

I decided long ago in this game that goals came from the middle of the field. The passing is not crisp, especially near the nets. Also, the offside rules were worse a few seasons ago. So when a pass was made a net, you could be offside. So, I had a single CF to reduce my offsides. Also, the frequency of misses helped me score more often in my head. I didn't want a clear chance on goal from three different players as they all miss into the stands on their first attempts, then miss closer and closer until they score. Seemed if I put all my eggs in one basket, I'd score sooner.
But, as I got to division 3, I got shut out every match for the first three weeks (seemed like it). So the time was to change. The Wings are great value in the game (they are cheap, so are the RM LF, and the backs) but the goals come from the middle of the field. So I tried the LF/RF combination, but needed a distributor. I was looking for OM, but found a couple of loans for CF so my choice had been done for me.

The goals are better, but my tactics are to prevent offsides as much as possible. So I do not press with their positioning, but what do you guys do? I usually have my attackers behind the ball. At very squares.

What do you do with attackers and why?

MVP of the game
Much of what you do- keep them at a relatively safe distance to prevent offsides and then have them crash the goal when they get close enough (which they never do).

I did end up using an OM since during my first season I had an OM/RF/LF combination- which worked beautifully. I scored a deal on an OM a few seasons ago- the seller didn't recognize the potential of the player. If I hadn't found a good OM I probably would have used a third RF/LF since they're cheaper than a CF. When my OM is injured I do that because I can't afford a bench player (don't have 100m kicking around).

I find that my team usually has one main goal scorer, even with two strikers, so I adjust tactics to improve that players' chances of making more shots. This year it's my (loaned) LF and sometimes my OM. My RF is absolutely useless in this league (5 goals this season... pathetic).

I suppose I'll start the midfielder chat as well: I use LM/RM and I look for high shot/pass % when I want to buy one. They don't usually score but it means they have high potential and can be improved. When I bought Jagroop he had 76% shot, 88% pass- very attractive for the 26m price tag. In tactics, I keep the mids running from farther back on defense to right up with the strikers on offense

My defense is where things get weird: I use a DFM, CDF, and three LB/RBs in various combinations, with one playing like a CDF. I use this mainly because my backs are better than my backup CDF and they're cheaper to buy. I can also rotate them around the lineup to keep them fresh. It works for now but I'm looking to switch to two CDFs or DFMs next season and play a more conventional lineup, because if two of my backs get injured I don't have any other options.

No wonder you are scoring at will. RM and LM with three forwards... very offensive minded. Because I had 3 forwards in use, I had decided to go with the RIM and LIM combo for defense purposes. The problem is that I mainly train my forwards, so at least if I go RM and LM they will benefit from the sprint training and continue to get better.

On defense, I use 1 CDF, 1 RDF, 1LDF and 1 DFM. I am just about to go 2DFM and eliminate the RIM and LIM and use the RM LM combo discussed.

So, currently
LDF CDF RDF
DFM
RIM, IM, LIM
LF CF RF

And I will probably go...
LDF CDF RDF
DFM DFM
RM LM OM
RF LF
