already a lot has been said on this on numerous occasions. managers venting their anger whenever a situation like that arises here. i dont think anything will be done like removing offsides completely. but in the same context i want to see a change. it is that the defs shouldn't be allowed to be kept in the middle tile. that is their entry into that row of tiles should be prevented. that i think can be implemented. They should be max only allowed to be put at the edge of the 3rd tile row in their half. it will hence prohibit managers from adopting this negative approach of catching for offsides at mid line itself. even in realty have you seen defenders deliberately going and standing at the mid line. so they will at least learn a little how to defend and formulate strategies like in real football. |

I agree...maybe I shouldn't put the poll question on removing Offsides completely...but instead on putting limitations to it. You gave a good idea...a maximum line for which offsides can be called would surely help. Managers, as you say, would have to approach a new strategy beside the easy one (which I also started to use) of putting everybody at midline. I totaly agree with you that the game should make managers be concerned more about the strategy...than the results. With a good strategy comes good results...not the other way around. I mean...I've won games with 10, 11 goals to nill...just because the other manager (or system bot) doesn't have a coherent strategy. I usually don't celebrate those games and I find them boring...in fact...I want to smack my offensive players in the face for missing so many goals.  I usually celebrate when I win against a team that has better average than me...that puts me through the roof, because it meant that my strategy was good enough to win, even to a better average team.Edited by Hebitsukai 09-02-2013 18:28 |

offside removed ?! this is football !! no way that offside should be removed!! i have no idea how 4 people votes yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if it is removed !! u will see an attacker near goal just waiting for a pass , and u will see 9 player near the GK standing as a wall defending !! then no use of midfielders at all really close this thread !! |

Dude...I just said that I admit that the removal is quite exagerated. But at least...GIVE IDEAS TO IMPROVE THE SITUATION...don't just suggest the closure of thread. Lumiere just gave a good idea for it. Obviously this doesn't affect you at all...you are 80% average team players...full stadium...div.1...large income...and I never played against you but I BET that you use the offside advantage to yourself extensively and obviously you don't want to loose that advantage to small teams with strategy inclination. Obvioulsly..."top dogs"...never want things to get right...because the wrongs...made their success. |

You see?? You are able to understand the problem. You just read the pool and automaticaly wanted to flame it. If you read what I said...you would see that I've said the same thing as you did just now. That stupid players always pass the ball to attackers in obvious offside position...instead of keep running with it, in order to let the striker get behind a little bit ( making the pass legal, as real football )...or not pass the ball at all and try to score himself. Another idea...why does the Tactics DEF (green bar) get's set at maximum to the second row of squares starting from goal line...but the Defence players...can be put anywhere in the field?? Shouldn't the Tactic lines be able to prevent that from happening? I mean...defence players...can only play on defence area, green part...midfielders only at yellow...and attackers...only at red line. That would force people to create a defence, midfield and offense strategy, other than just put 10 players running throughall the field on top of 1 or 2 players with the ball. Is that football? I don't think so. |

No one who uses the offside trap will get far in this game. Honestly your poll was 24-5 last time I looked. Theres a reason for that, OT does not work very well against anyone who knows what they are doing. | 09/02/2013 19:01 |

Well...I don't know about that...the only thing I do know...is that if I kept the strategy way of thinking...and count on sheer player average and strategy...I would still be on 6th division and loosing every single mach. That is why I think that there is A LOT to be done with this subject. Players should stop be able to act anywhere on the field...stranding them to the green yellow and red areas ( I sincerely don't know what are those lines doing there, if you can still put your players anywhere on the field )... And also improove the passing abilities...for instance...there are clear lines of pass...but ALL the players wait for the adversary to come in front of them to pass the ball (not passing while they have a clear passing line)...that...as akleb well said...is just plain stupid. And passing the ball to an obvious offside (using a "real" term...with more than 2 meters from the last defender) team player...should plain and simply be made impossible. |
