I don't hate the idea as it would be nice to have something fun like this that everyone can participate in, since it's such a long haul to get from division 6 to division 1. Even if they were division restricted, you'd still see the players going for a lot of money so only a few people could take part in the auctions. There's some 6th division guy going around hostiling 100 million players today (I don't remember his name, but I'm sure someone has the link), and you can easily be in division 5 and have a load of money. The biggest problem though is that the money in division 5-7 is a lot lower so could see a player sell off most of his team, and put out a weak team for the week to pick up a couple of the players, knowing that he's going to be able to sell them to a division 1 team for 3x the money. Now instead of the 400 million each they would have went for disappearing, now that money is in this guys pockets and he's got like 500 million in profits to build his squad up and help inflation to continue. If these do take 5 billion out of the market, that's going to make a good dent on the game. You're not going to see it immediately, but it's going to slow the billions that people are paying for 1 player. |

To say you will never be able to afford these players is absurd. The longer you stay, the more money you save and the more juniors you train to sell, you will be able to afford them. Now, if this was about 50gbs per bid, by all means rant on. | 21/08/2012 00:09 |

These players are only for inflation control. Otherwise they would just release them through schools or do some sort of low cost (or strictly GB based) lottery. Based on that it doesnt make sense to release them by division. | 21/08/2012 03:44 |

As far as inflation control goes, this is just merely a by-product. 10 - 15 Billion is literally nothing in this game. Not compared to the amount of money being continuously pumped in. Also, it is the CF, and a few other positions that'll go for amounts higher than a Billion. Whilst many other positions will be cheaper, it will still be out of the price range of most manager. e.g. 450 Million for a 14 year old Junior. Many Division 3 managers couldn't even afford this. Whilst a dozen or so managers can afford this, all this does is take some money away from a manager that already makes a lot of money, and hands them one of the best players in the game. The managers at the top of this game know full well that money isn't important - Rare and high prog players are. In essence, this game is just giving away the likes of Gran Bud and Culea what they need to stay truly dominant. As for the rest of us, we can continue running 85%+ GB searches and coming back with nothing, whilst a few managers seem to always get the results. P.S. As for the whole 'inflation' thing. I think I wrote up an entire thesis on this issue. None/Very little of it has been disagreed with by anyone who has studied economics. So as for the inflation issue, maybe people should re-read it before repeatedly arguing that such and such decision is 'good for the game' because it reduces inflation.
