Hello everybody For the past two seasons I have religiously stuck to the same formation, and more or less tactics. I have not changed because it has brought me success, but now I am considering a change. The old tactic is a 4-3-3, with LBs and RBs with RDFs and LDFs in defence, a DFM, a RIM and LIM, then in attack two wingers and a CF. I have however noticed that while LB and RB seem to be fairly redundant in both an attacking and defensive sense (in the simulator they never seem to get the ball or tackle anyone), deploying RDF and LDF with no CDF often allows oppositions strikers through on goal unchallenged. So I'm thinking of getting rid of fullbacks and changing to LDF CDF RDF in defence, and this leaves me with an extra man to play somewhere else. Now some questions to discuss: 1. Is it better to deploy CDFs (one or two, along with a LDF and RDF) instead of full backs (LB,RB)? Or does this leave you too narrow at the back? 2. Can a deep DFM do the job of this "new" CDF? 3. Where should I use my extra man? I see three main options, (1) extra CF, (2) an OM or IM, or (3) play with two DFMs and advance the RIM and LIM Of course the answers may depend on you're opposition, and the best strategy must be to adapt to opponents styles, but in general what do you guys think? I would play 2 CDF, LDF, RDF unless they have wingers, then I'd use your old tactic. I used to have 2 DFMs, didn't like it as they can't defend aswell as CDF I'm in shock you don't play an IM or OM as it is, I think these are the 'all-rounders' of your squad so here's my solution. Scenario 1 - Opponent plays wingers Solution - Old Tactic/formation Scenario 2 - Opponent plays RF, LF, OM/CF Solution - Use LDF, CDF, CDF, RDF, DFM, LIM, RIM, LW, CF, RW Scenario 3 - Opponent plays Defensive (4 defense + DFM for example) Solution - LDF, CDF, RDF, DFM, LIM, RIM, OM, LW, CF, RW (or change DFM, CF for an extra LF, RF along with the wingers) But you have a game streak of 7... If it isn't broken, don't fix it!  good luck to you |

u can use alot of formation lw rw cf lim rim im dfm cdf rdf ldf lf cf rf lim rim im dfm cdf rdf ldf or cdf cdf rdf ldf without a dfm |
