This is a tricky problem. As I see it, the admins are trying to solve 3 separate problems 1) newbies get slammed by hostile clauses 2) harvesting high-progression youths/players from zombie teams distorts the game 3) cheaters can use this to grab a fantastic squad by creating a lot of accounts and selling only the good players to themselves 1) newbies get slammed by hostile clauses. This has been completely fixed by 8k experience rule. The number of "hey, he took my player" posts on the forum has plummeted to an all-time low. So, score 1 for 8k exp 2) harvesting the 8k exp rule also has eliminated this entirely. score 1 for 8k exp 3) cheats This is actually true now, but the rule forces people to auction and wait 3 days to receive the players, so the impatience factor eliminates a fair amount of cheating. There are some problems, however, which impact non-cheaters, as Horath pointed out. Basically, we want legitimate users to have these two things 1) protection from hostile clause until they have figured out the game 2) ability to buy/sell the players they need to improve their team We want to make it harder for cheaters to multi-account. I think that there should be a 1 week period in which the user cannot hostile other players, and in turn cannot be hostiled. Beyond that, once the user successfully hostiles another player OR reaches 8k experience, whichever comes first, then his players are no longer protected. Marking protected players with a special icon only visible to the user would help with that transition for newbies. Preventing transfers/hostile clauses/auctions between users who share ip, password, email, alias similarity or other coincidence until both users have > 8k experience points will also prevent cheating via multi-accounting, it would effectively eliminate most of our job. Additionally, limiting purchases to 1 per day for the first week would help us prevent multi-accounting. One last safety would kill off the majority of multi-accounting: only allowing 1 sale per week to brand-new teams. In other words, if a brand new team buys one of your players on auction, that is the only brand-new team (team younger than 1 week) allowed to purchase or bid on your players until 7 days from now. This would force multi-accounters to create their accounts and wait for 7 days before they use them, plenty of time for fiscals to catch this and stop it before the cheating happens. With those safeguards in place, it would be safe to allow new users to have access to forecast (a necessity for understanding how good your players are, but also a really useful tool for cheaters), and would free up new users so they have a time period that they know their team is protected while they learn about training, tactics, and formation. Then, after the 1 week protection period, they can start really learning about player trading. Truthfully, if you're new to the game, trading players is not a wise way to begin. Better is to learn what the staff members do, how stamina/fitness/morale work, what the positions do, how the stadium works, and how formations/tactics are set up. Only after you know what you want to do with formations/tactics does it make sense to start buying and selling players. |

It's not allowed to multi-account this way. If you don't like your team, delete your account and try again. Having more than 1 account is verboten. Period. |

My first season, I saw 2-3 new posts every day. Remember, season 1 there were a lot fewer folks playing, so the number of messages should have been lower. I haven't done a study though, perhaps one of the statistics freaks wants to check that for us |

The 7 days protection , i don't remember if it was 7 or 10 was the method they used before the 8000 EXP It just because newbies didn't understand what is hostile within 7-10 days; therefore , 8000 exp rule was created ^_^ |

What about the players not being able to see their own players training? don't you think this is a little absurd? they should be able to see their own players but not have others see the values so they know which players the should resign and which they should sell. | 12/01/2012 05:51 |
