Ok, i'll just put this up for discussion, wanna know what the rest of you think about this..

anyway, i just went and made account brazil server of SM 2 days ago, to have some fun, try different tactics etc. - just thought it would be lots of fun starting over as a "newbie" again. But man was i wrong...

This 8.000 exp rule basically makes your life so damn tough that i can totally see why so many people quit literally minutes after they sign up! A new player comes to game to manage a team, to buy players, to sell players, to set tactics, to beat opponents etc.

But with 8k exp rule, a lot of this is limited for quite a while. Now, i've been playing this game since April, so about 9 months, i could say for quite a while. But with new simulator, 8k exp rule in place and so on, i must say life for a newbie must be damn hard.

You can't improve your team (players on auction are are far out of your budget range, you can't hostile cheap players due to 8k rule, you can't direct sell or buy players because of 8k exp rule, you can't sell players on auction because you are given a team of players who are worth nothing for any other team, you can't buy players from auction as they are overpriced duo to "fair trade" policy, or if you can afford some, they are basically as good as your current players).

Still a big gamble to win a game even if you set tactics (example: i played a game vs system bot on BR server, i set tactics, effort, formation, advanced tactics etc. - all went according to tactics, but with current simulator, when games are played with players whose average "average" is around 30 (that's what you get in div. 6), players are so slow that tactics don't really matter, your players will miss the target 90% anyway (for example i lost a game 0:1, had 1/10 shots while opponent had 0/1 shots lol))

All of this is connected: if the 8k rule was not in place, those managers could buy hostile some better players to actually play games in regular conditions. When player joins the game and sees the "you need 8,000 experience points to make purchase offers" message when he wants to buy some nice players he just found, he probably (i would guess 90% cases) doesn't even know what experience points are, how they are gained, etc.

Why making things so complicated? I don't know what went wrong, but i think things worked just fine way back when we didn't have this rule in place. It's just frustrating new and old players and doing more harm than good..

Or is it just me seeing this this way?

I agree Horath it's extremely difficult with that rule. I get the feeling that that rule was put in place when training was changed back at the start of last season. If you remember it was changed to make players grow very slowly. It has since been updated however so that players grow at a reasonable rate. I think that the 8k exp rule should be updated as well, changed to 2-4k exp or something. That's at least a couple of weeks playing, more than enough time to get your bearings. 11/01/2012 01:22

just my opinion: why even keep any exp rule? Why not just give newbies a bit longer protection time? let's say 25-30 days (so players can't be camped by just a few "no lifers" who would always camp players to be transferable). Imho what every new manager wants to do is change their team as much as possible, buy they players they consider needed for their tactics and so on. That's what should be a focus to let new players do, not limit them on an aspect that is one of the core features of manager games. If a newbie is out of cup and plays some div. 6 or 7, they will need a long time to gather even 2k or 4k exp. Like i pointed out from my experience with 30avg team from brazil server - game with those low figures is a lot more unpredictable than with teams avg 50+, opponents dont even need to shoot to beat you 11/01/2012 01:26

i dont like it, but if you do that right now i would like it even less.

Im just thinking about the huge amounts of price differences in juniors that it will make. A 90+ prog junior would could be worth 20M+ today might be worth <5M tomorrow depending on what you do with that rule. Saying that, I will expect lots of, "I bought this guy a week ago and i payed so much...and now i could have gotten him for 1/10 of the price...this is not fair" complaints.

If you change it back to protection based on time, all those 90+ prog will come out here. The current system keeps many of them out of the game. It would be a pretty big change to introduce, probably some other consequences i dont notice too.

They need to gradually lower the limit, maybe in increments of 1k a week, and do so publicly so that people know. 11/01/2012 01:45

i agree - players like dee would commit suicide before reaching the limit. They should lower the limit for sure, maybe even remove it all together and leave it the way it was.

hello this change was due to the Spanish striker cheats managers, who offered the money in your clause to the manager again, I bought and then sold it for much more, for example: CF 20/14 (250,000) and sold it for 40m 80m 100m .... there was a manager in 5 months, won 10.000.000.000 €, average 86, 5 division .... xD and because of this manager changed the rules to prevent cheating , I also I have an account in Brazil last week and is very hard if xd, it is best to make schools ^^ greetings 11/01/2012 01:55

But gradually, doing it all at once would lead to the chaos that seems to happen at the beginning of every season.

Season 3- Free Agents
Season 4- Training thingy, and everything new sim related
Season 5- Protection problem and chaos

Let's keep removal of 8k rule off of season 6
