It seems that the majority are for a change, but we can't agree on how it should be carried out. Before trying to think of this solution, maybe we should discuss what we would want out of a new training system?

1. A upward limit on how good a player can get.
I agree with solirocket in that any solution must control for these 80+ teams becoming 90+ teams and so on, as in the new simulator. Maybe something like a 'threshold' potential could be implemented? This could be a simple a 73 progression player maxes out at 73, a 84 progression player maxes out at 84 etc. Even better, they could even be different, adding a new element to the game -now you'd have to choose between fast progressional players and those late bloomers who turn out better in the long run. This way admins could limit the number of 80 or 90 progression players coming from schools. Just an idea, but I'm sure it has some problems.

2. A suitable speed at which a player's average is increased.
Maybe a rate similar to the old simulator, with some obvious alterations.

3. A way to customize your training, and thus, customize the team you field (the power to focus training on certain attributes).

These are just the few I thought of before work, feel free (please) add on and modify/suggest changes!
