Danny Jack got one and Chris Earl scored a brace as Stonepost United pulled off another shock in taking the scalp of Div.4/Gr.11 team Racing Club De Avellan this morning at the Fernando Redondo stadium in Florida, United States. "Racing are a great passing side," was manager Stundek's assessment, "but we were pretty slick ourselves, and all the goals scored were of the quality I expect from this squad. Very happy with that result. I like to keep the squad pretty battle-hardened during the course of the season, and this fixture provided that opportunity." Asked if Stonepost United were a giant-killing side, Stundek found a hard time being modest: "Well, we've just knocked off the top-of the table UDAR United (in the league), and now this result. Mind you, we just have to take each game as it comes, keep training hard - you'll never know in this league when you are going to be put in your place, so it's a matter of just working hard, putting in the training and just focussing on each game as it comes." Stonepost United next return to the Div.6/Gr309 league with their match against top-of-the-table Grêmio FBPA tomorrow at Stonepost Stadium. Racing Club De Avellan: 1 (Sonny Chandler 43') Stonepost United: 3 (19', 83'; Danny Jack 76') Attendance: 7,188 Fernando Redondo Stadium Florida, United States. Edited by Stundek 20-10-2011 15:04 |

Central Midfielder Ryan Wright returns to the Stonepost United squad to face Grêmio FBPA today. Said manager Stundek: "Rasual Spencer has deputized extremely well whilst Ryan was injured, but I feel that this clash needs Ryan back in his typical midfield role. Grêmio are top of the league at the moment, they've only lost one game, and they've won the other seven - they'll give us a hell of a game, and we need to give a good account of ourselves this afternoon. I expect straight backs from our boys out there on the pitch." | 19/10/2011 18:21 |

Wednesday October 19, 2011 "Right then, who can my team claim next?" screamed an overjoyed Stundek as Stonepost United shot down Grêmio FBPA 4-1 today at home in front of 27,000 fans. "That's two leading scalps in as many games we've got, and the feeling right now is absolutely electric. We're going to enjoy this but not get too ahead of ourselves." Stonepost had the lead as early as the second minute when Chris Earl drilled a shot at Grêmio keeper Gary Safii, only for Safii to spill the ball into his own net. Danny Jack added the second on the quarter-hour mark, and Earl grabbed two goals before the referee had blown for half-time. Ahmad Ibrahim pulled back a consolation goal after the hour mark, but by that stage, the home crowd had been worked into a frenzy from the display they were witnessing by their team. Stonepost next take on Inter Milan of Lombardia away tomorrow. Div.6/Grp.309 Round 9. Stonepost United: 4 (Gary Saffi 2'OG, Danny Jack 15', Chris Earl 24', 38') Grêmio FBPA: 1 (Ahmad Ibrahim 67') Attendance: 27,126 Stonepost Stadium. Edited by Stundek 28-10-2011 01:51 |

The first time Inter Milan squared off with Stonepost United back on the 29th of September, Milan clinically dismantled Stonepost 3-1. Since then, a strengthening of the back four, combined with bringing the tactics into sharper focus have resulted in Stonepost United having a tighter formation, more man-marking and essentially a 1-1 draw with Milan. Manager Stundek is cautious, but pleased: "We're accepting challenges from teams that are above us (in divisions), have stronger squads on the whole, and frankly overall, have better systems than us. And we're still beating them. That's a full credit to our players commitment and attitude and to our backroom staff and their attitude. And of course, this whole thing fails if it isn't for our lifeblood - our fans." Stonepost United next faces yet another top-of-the-table side in the shape of Ferroviarios F.C. - a team Stonepost United have been monitoring very closely. "It seems to be a bit of a story for us at the moment," said manager Stundek. "They're at the top, they have better players than us....let's see if we can follow the scenario through by flipping the script one more time. We'll see." Stonepost United's clash away to Ferroviarios F.C. is at 12:16 today. |

A disappointed Stundek didn't agree with the result but was forced to settle for a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Ferroviarios F.C. this afternoon. "We certainly scrapped with them. I thought that game was more worthy of a draw. But I can have no excuses - we were positively awful in front of goal, despite the rest of the team working their socks off. Overall, I'm proud, but that final third, that's where more effort needs to be commited. It's not like we can't score goals, but we need to be a bit more instinctive inside the box. Credit to Ferroviarios F.C. - they're a well-organised and hard side to beat. I'll put my money on them to win this league. I'll certainly put in my vote for goal of the season for Casey Mckie - that was quite astonishing." Stonepost United's next match is in the Blue Square Premier League, away to Top Gear FC tomorrow. Friday 21st October, 2011 Ferroviarios F.C.: 1 (Keith Neal 1'OG) Stonepost United: 0 Attendance: 37,920 Addison Arena - Aberdeen City, Scotland. Man Of The Match - Ryan Wright (Stonepost United) |

Three Stonepost United players were voted best of Round 11 in the Div.6/Grp.309 league. Midfielders Ryan Wright and Bryan Wilding along with Winger Danny Jack were all nominated for team of the round. Manager Stundek coud not be more pleased. "This is vindication for the hard work these lads put in week in, week out. We're a little club making a big noise, and these lads are standing up and representing us well." In other Stonepost United news, it was a mixed bag over the weekend as a 1-1 result with Top Gear FC at Stig Arena on Saturday was followed by a 1-2 loss to New Stars at home on Sunday - both games part of the private Blue Square Premier League. "Look, there's no two ways about it," said manager Stundek, "we're in a league where 20 per cent of the teams are in Division 4, and another 20 per cent are in Division 5 - you're going to see the occasional loss. I'll be pleased if we finish mid-table in this league. It'll serve to strengthen the squad, and make us more competitive as we look to be promoted from Div.6/Grp.309". ****** Apologies to readers as recent illness (the rotten flu) has prevented news reports from going out. I'm now on the mend, and reports should be coming in thick and fast as all the action unfolds. Stonepost next plays Real Madrid away at the Olimpiysky stadium on October the 26th at 12:16pm. ****** It was a case of less posession, more goals as Stonepost United comfortably dispatched Real Madrid 3-0 away from home on Wednesday. Forward Chris Earl again displayed why he is the form striker, bagging the lot, taking his tally for the season to 23 - a remarkable feat - whilst the defence again showed improving signs as they kept the Real forward pairing of Pavel Zaseyeev and Yevgeni Babaev quiet for 90 minutes. Incredibly, Real couldn't even muster a single shot on goal, yet enjoyed the bulk of the posession. Manager Stundek's reaction was suitably pleased: "That is what I believe this team are all about. Shut it at the back, work it from midfield through to the forwards, and convert the chances. It's like a well-oiled machine, provided, of course, that it remains well-oiled. Then again, you never know when the other team might turn up, you never know when the game will be brought to you." Stonepost United's next opponent comes in the way of FC Netherfield at home in a friendly on Thursday. Real Madrid: 0 Stonepost United: 3 (Chris Earl 8', 65', 80') Attendance: 30,191 Olimpiysky Stadium Moscow, Russia. Man of the Match: Ryan Wright. ****** Stonepost United again showed a taste for giant-killing in taking down FC Netherfield in Thursday's friendly match at the Stonepost Stadium. Forward Chris Earl was destroyer-in-chief with yet another hat-trick before leaving the field injured in the 82nd minute. Netherfield's Niclas Sjöstrand had a consolation goal before half-time, but as has been often the case this season for Stonepost, the damage had already been done by then. Netherfield also had time to put one in the net for Stonepost prior to half-time with Matías Díaz sadly slotting one in. FC Netherfield Manager Johnnie Pea was dissapointed with his side's efforts: "The most disappointing thing was the performance with the ball, not without it. Without the ball we stuck at it; we put bodies on the line and worked hard. We got in our shape, we tackled and we won tackles, we just didn't then run into attack mode and cause them enough problems.” Stonepost United Manager was still left in shock: "We have put away a very strong team, a team I didn't think we would beat, but my lads have happily proved me wrong. That was a strong performance by our squad, but fair play to FC Netherfield - I have a massive respect for their Gaffer, players and fans. We have a very good relationship, our teams always play competetively even if it's a friendly. Netherfield is one of those teams you grudgingly beat. This is what real football is about to me: the community, the relationships, the camaraderie and banter amongst players and fans." Johnnie was quick to move on from the result: "The group of players we have are fabulous to work with and on the training ground before Friday we'll be working again towards a shape, a mentality and system to cause Real Madrid a lot of problems. We'll put this result behind us as quickly as we can.” The next time these two meet competetively will be in the Blue Square Premier League on the 6th of November. "I relish these games, because I'm getting to know Johnnie Pea a little bit, I admire his players, they're a little stronger than us, and it's always nice to have a crack at them and have a go. We have good camaraderie between us, and although we're always out for blood, it's good natured. I believe there's a healthy rivalry developing here." Stonepost United's next game is the Div.6/Grp.309 fixture against Supreme Stars on Friday. <<**Friendly Match**>> Stonepost United: 4 (Chris Earl 7', 38', 48', Matías Díaz 44'OG) FC Netherfield: 1 (Niclas Sjöstrand 42') Attendance: 6,982 Stonepost Stadium, Victoria Australia Man of the Match: Jacinto Matabuena (FC Netherfield). Stonepost United staked their claim to promotion this afternoon as they seized third place at the expense of Supreme stars at the Stonepost Stadium. The absence of key striker Chris Earl through injury seemed to make little difference as Jakim Pierce and Danny Jack got the party started for Stonepost as early as the 2nd minute when Pierce, on a mazy run from the right, chipped in an exquisite shot from just inside the area, over the head of dejected Supreme goalkeeper Lionel Petit. Stonepost should have been rewarded with more goals in the first half, yet were dry despite their endeavour. All that changed on 42 minutes, when under pressure from defender Bruno Lievre, Pierce again beat Petit, this time with a low sliding ball that nestled into the bottom left-hand side after being fed into the box by Peter Bonner. Pierce was tormenting Petit throughout the match, and so it proved again shortly after half-time when his lobbing foot came back into play for another smart finish on 46 minutes. But Pierce was not finished with Petit, when on 71 minutes, Bonner again fed Pierce who had his first time shot parried by Petit back into his path, this time making no mistake on the rebound from 6 yards. Manager Stundek had one eye closely on the league table, especially in the other clash between Ferroviarios F.C. and Yeovil Town with a view to leap-frogging Yeovil Town - so when that game ended in a 4-4 thriller, it was on Stonepost to seize their opportunity. Their backline did not let them down. "We were faster, hungrier, and Pierce was particularly devastating. This is one of those important games where the right result was required, and we got it. Now, we need to prove that we're serious in promotion. We need to close this up on the business end." The action next shifts to the Blue Squre Premier League and the clash away to Intruders 333 tomorrow. <<*** Div.6/Grp.309 ***>> Friday October 28, 2011. Chris Earl had clearly missed being on the pitch, as he returned to Stonepost United from injury with an astonishing six goals against Warfield this afternoon, but not before Danny Jack had opened the scoring as early as the 1st minute with a crisp finish that sailed over the head of Warfield keeper Rudolf Multscher. And Multscher had an awful game as Earl clearly had the measure of him, scoring almost at will. With defender Rainer Habermann sent off on 73 minutes, along with both right-back Peter Alder and right inside midfielder Dennis Fischer carted off through injury, Warfield were nearly a shell of a football team as Stonepost made short work of their German opponents. Manager Stundek praised his teams' ruthfulness: "That was more than satisfactory. We needed to put this team away, and we proceeded to do just that. They were too slow. We cleared the ball away from defence easily, and I was pleased we kept a clean sheet." Stundek also had special praise for the return of Chris Earl "Now that's a performance you pay top money for. Makes a difference when the lad is on top of his game and converting the chances that come his way. I'd have been happy with a hat-trick, but a DOUBLE hat-trick? Outstanding!!" Stonepost United are next at home to Smogikay team of Malaysia on Wednesday November the 2nd. <<*** Div.6/Grp.309 ***>> Round 14 - Monday October 31st, 2011 Warfield: 0 Stonepost United: 7 (Danny Jack 1', Chris Earl 17', 23', 31', 54', 71', 90') Attendance: 29,876 Team 82794 Arena Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Manager Stundek has ordered the commencement of improved dressing rooms for his Stonepost United squad at the Stonepost Stadium. "It's ridiculous, isn't it? We're sitting pretty in the league, but we have dressing rooms suggesting we're ready to be relegated. That has to change. And I'm going to make sure it does!!" The new dressing rooms should be in by Sunday the 6th of November. | 01/11/2011 19:04 |

A stunning 7-0 victory by Stonepost United consolidated second place on the Div.6/Grp leaderboard this afternoon as they dominated Smogikay team at the Stonepost Stadium. Striker Chris Earl was at it again, with his second double hat-trick in as many games. Manager Stundek was speechless after the match: "I can't believe it. He's an astonishing talent. He's banging them in now like it's nobody's business. I often get tense before every match, and then by half-time, I can sit my feet up, 'cause we've usually destroyed a team by then! It's been astonishing coaching this team. They've done everything I've asked of them and then some. I'm really enjoying these group of players, and they're really delivering." Chris Earl's strike-rate has been a cut above, to say the least. With 35 goals from 13 games in the league, he is six ahead of nearest rival Gavril Mutu of Ferroviarios F.C., who has 29. And manager Stundek is certainly weary of Mutu, with one eye squarely on the reverse fixture with Ferroviarios F.C. on the 5th of December squarely on his mind. Said Stundek of the game: "They are the team to beat right now, they are nicely out in front, and we have a bit of a rep for taking down the big teams. They only beat us 1-0 last time out at their ground, and that was a freak goal in itself! So let's see if we can't get them this time and take a few points off them!" Before they take Ferroviarios though, they have to cool their jets for Hicham F.C. who they meet on Friday the 4th of November at Elektrik Arena. <<*** Div.6/Grp.309 ***>> Round 15 - Wednesday November 2, 2011 Stonepost United: 7 (Chris Earl 1', 14', 38', 41', 55', 71'; Ryan Wright 90') Smogikay team: 0 Attendance: 28,306 Stonepost Stadium, Victoria Australia Man of the Match: Ryan Wright. |
