Stonepost United built on what has otherwise been a steady start to the season with a 4-1 win over See my squad, good play this morning at Stonepost Stadium. In front of 28,783 fans, the clash was shaped up as a physical encounter, and it delivered on it's promise with a scoreline that flattered Stonepost. Forward Danny Jack had until now been a little in fellow striker Chris Earl's shadow, but today he was all goal-scoring business as he stepped out, completing his hat-trick shortly after the hour mark. Earl got his name down on 68 minutes, with Chad Rodgers grabbing a goal for the visitors with 20 minutes to go, but by that point, the game was really over as a contest. Of concern to Stonepost will be the injury to midfielder Colton Oleson, but according to team doctor Carmelo Davis, it appears as though it's a bout of gastrointeritis and Oleson should be back within a week. Dan Brown will cover Oleson's place in the mean-time, with Jakim Pearce providing back-up. In other news, Stonepost's Australian Youth Academy is pleased to announce it's first-ever signing with 15-year-old defender Wilson Hasler. Manager Stundek has high hopes for the future prospect: "the lad is quick, combative and he'll prove a hand-full for our opposition. It's nice to get a player from my home country in the squad, and I'll be keeping a particularly close eye on him". Stonepost United next face G2k_team in the Div.6/Grp309 League at home tomorrow. Stonepost United: 4 (Danny Jack 1', 56', 66'; Chris Earl 68') See my squad, good play: 1 (Chad Rodgers 70') Attendance: 28,783 Stonepost Stadium. |

Stonepost United were forced to settle for a point with their Div.6/Grp309 clash with G2k_team at Stonepost Stadium this afternoon in front of 26,367 frustrated fans. "And they weren't the only ones!" raved a highly irate manager Stundek. "Our forwards were truly wasteful, and the backs seemed to have gone on holiday on occasion. I suppose I should be relieved we got something from the game, because if their finishing wasn't so woeful, as ours also was, then the scoreline would have been far different". Stundek couldn't have been more accurate, with both teams guilty of being grossly profligate in front of goal, with several one on one chances going wide. "We need to put teams like this away, I just can't understand how we can have a couple of very powerful results and then come up with this against what is seemingly a similar team. We must improve." Stonepost's next match is away against Cap-Vert fc at the LHN Street Arena on Wednesday. Stonepost United:2 (Chris Earl 13', 24') G2k_team:2 (Alam Iskandar 10', 64') Attendance: 26,367 Stonepost Stadium. |

Stonepost United announced the signing of new first-team coach Rüstü Sanli to the ranks today. "If we're to make a serious impact, then we need the correct people who will fit the bill" was manager Stundek's blunt assessment ahead of the trip to the LHN STREET Arena to face Div.6/Grp309 rivals Cap-Vert fc today. "I want to see a marked improvement from the players, and that will basically go without saying if we are to stand any chance of moving out of this division. I'm sure the fans of Stonepost United will share this point of view." Plans for expansion to Stonepost Stadium are also well in progress, with the capacity increasing from 36,000 to 48,000 seats. "We want to get the fans as close to the players and the action as safety regulations permit. We also want to make it as easily accessible and comfortable for fans with manouverability impairment - since all of our fans are of equal importance." With an increased stadium size comes increased revenue potential, and Stundek has one eye on the billboard sponsorship options. "Of course, it'd be good revenue for the club - I'd like to see a stronger squad next season, and you aren't going to get that without a bit of investment - it's the old 'you have to spend money to make money' philosophy. We want to expand the club, certainly have more fans cheering on their local team and getting behind the players as a community, not just a club they see week in, week out." Talk about a ramble. Stonepost is curently away at Cap-Vert fc. Full match report to follow. |

Manager Stundek watched in horror as defeat was snatched from the jaws of a possible three points this afternoon as Stonepost and Cape-Vert fc shared two goals apiece at the LHN STREET Arena Stadium. Again, it was a lack of a cutting edge which proved Stonepost's undoing and Stundek was left fuming at the number of missed chances. "We're better than that, you didn't see us at our best today. We pass and shoot better than that. A lot better. In fact, I'm surprised we got a point out of that, it's a shame we had to rely on a penalty to get our second goal, 'cause that probably should have been our fifth goal." Next for Stonepost United is Melbourne Victory F.C at home in the Div.6/Grp309 league on Friday. Cape-Vert fc:2 (Jean-françois Soler 43', Michel Sauzet 89' Stonepost United:2 (Chris Earl 54', 84' - Penalty) Attendance: 29,741 LHN STREET Arena Stadium. |

Stonepost United were byoued by the news from @internat yesterday that the Experience parameter of each player has been addressed and improved. There was a mad rush to the training pitch to award the new skills sets for the squad. "This is huge," said manager Stundek "this will certainly improve the squad as a whole and hopefully lead to more victories for Stonepost United." In other news, midfielder Rasual Spencer comes into the squad to replace injured Ryan Wright for the clash against Melbourne Victory F.C. today. Said manager Stundek: "Our doctor Carmelo Davis has been working with him, and it doesn't seem like it's a massive deal - he'll probably be out the next two games, but might be back for A.C.D. on the Saturday. There's no doubt he's one of our leaders on the field and a pivot, but Rasual's a good controller of the ball, he passes well, and I have no doubt he'll fill Wright's shoes well. Here's hoping he gives him a run for his money upon his return!!" Stonepost United next face Melbourne Victory F.C. at home today. Squad to face Melbourne Victory F.C.: Neal, Dogherty, Hughes, Williamson, Russell, Oleson, Bonner, Spencer, Wilding, Jack, Earl. Subs: Brown, Pierce, Pace. Edited by Stundek 14-10-2011 18:04 |

Chris Earl and Danny Jack combined this afternoon to devastating effect, destroying Melbourne Victory F.C 8-0 in front of 26,543 ecstatic fans at the Stonepost Stadium. Easily the result of the round, it was certainly welcomed by manager Stundek. "Well, that's more like it. Anything less than a win would have been clearly unsatisfactory. This result clearly shows what Stonepost United are capable of. We were at their throats from kick-off, and although again, we had some terrible misses, that was a far improved performance than when we faced Cap-Vert fc." Some of the passing was quite exemplary at times, with Danny Jack being on the end of some incredible goals. "That lad (Jack) is really coming along this season - his strikes are extremely encouraging for this team." Stundek was also pleased that the team stayed injury-free. "We didn't concede a goal, we kept our discipline, and we stayed on our feet. I'm more than pleased with this result. That bodes well for tomorrow." Stundek now move to the Blue Square Premier League weekend matches starting with A.C.D. tomorrow at the Debe Arena in Lombardia, Italy. Manager Stundek fancied his sides' chances: "We'll give them a game; I think our tactics are just about there. Arguably they're a little stronger than us, but it should make for a solid game." Stonepost United: 8 (Chris Earl 4', 9', 11', 32', 34'; Danny Jack 30', 47', 63') Melbourne Victory F.C.: 0 Attendance: 26,543 Stonepost Stadium. |

A topsy-turvy weekend for Stonepost United was merely the entree prior to today's full-blooded main course in the league, culminating in a shock win over top-of-the-table UDAR United. Saturday saw Stonepost travelling to Debe Arena in Italy to face A.C.D. - top of the table in the Blue Square Premier League - and we're promptly left wanting quicker strikers in the face of a 2-0 defeat. Sunday's fortunes improved dramatically at home when Stonepost played host to Indian club cheetahz when they promptly turned them over 4-1 in front of 30,000 fans. This leaves Stonepost one spot outside the money ring in sixth place after the weekend games, but is probably the correct place in the league given the strength of opposition. The weekend's matches however paled in comparison to the way Stonepost took down UDAR United - a pleasantly surprising 3-1 away victory at the Sedgefield Arena in Alabama. "Overall, they had a stronger line-up than us, but there's no reason we couldn't challenge them man to man, and that's what happened" said a thorouhly pleased Stundek after the game. "That almost felt like a cup game - we were undoubtedly underdogs prior to that match, but we clearly played like we had nothing to lose, and we took three points off them - very very pleased at the moment. That's a performance the boys will be very proud of, and hopefully they'll work off of that for the friendly in Florida tomorrow." Stonepost United: 3 (Chris Earl 38', Danny Jack 71', 90') UDAR United: 1 (Michael Walker 76') Attendance: 31,230 Sedgefield Stadium, Alabama United States. Edited by Stundek 17-10-2011 21:50 |
