good answer from Boshek , school like Brazil or Germany will poop out players more often and high quality , school like uruguay or Switzerland are more slower but high quality of players , i have a CDF from Uruguay wiith 87 % progression

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this topic with amazing clarifications !

I personally have about 10Mn to spend on a school right now and am thinking whether to invest : high q in Portugal / Netherlands or... regular in Brazil

What would you recommend (for ppl who have some experience with various level schools) ... I know that from Brazil they will pop out twice as fast,
but will quality be much better from Portugal or NL ?

Thanks!

I know that they're better , but i don't own 1 so you may find manager that have school in Brazil and ask them to ensure that statement
In my opinion and my own economic , i like school like uruguay and Portugal because they cost less but high quality of juvenile
Thus , do you think you can wait for a 14 years old players to be 18 or 19 to promote , that's a long long way . Focus on Senior team is more important because without a good senior team you won't win team that stronger than you when in higher division = less money

I can't really speak with much authority on the differences between the various level schools/countries. All four of mine are low population (2 weekish wait), only 60-80% country quality, and are Regular level. I was planning on upgrading one to the Normal level, but there are more pressing needs at the moment and that may be 2-3 weeks from now.

Having said that, if you're looking for the most cost efficient school, I think Uruguay is the best. For the quality of players you can get, it is less than half the cost of my other 60% quality school. I thought the cost of a high population school wasn't worth the decreased time for a player - unless you have a hard on for Chinese or Japanese players (they can sell good on market just because of their country/names).

I remember getting my first junior from Low school in 80% Croatia, and being very disappointed in his stats (he was only 22 average). I upgraded it to Normal and have yet to be disappointed in any of the 2 next players it's popped out. Too small a sample size to say it made a difference, but when you get a 22 defender who isn't gaining shit, then upgrade school level and get 29+s who are roaring into 30s (even from 60% schools instead of the 80% that the 22 came from), it makes me wonder what's at the next level (maybe high 30s/low 40s at 14?).

Also, remember that we pay maintenance fees Sunday night, and upgrading schools has no construction delay. When changing school levels, wait till your player is almost out, then upgrade. This way, you'll avoid the weekly increased maintenance cost from higher level schools. Small difference, but it's something.

I have a low level school in Brazil and the 2 players i have gotten from it so far are av/age of 31/14 and 32/14 after promotion with only 30 progression rate. I have done a forecast for one of those players and the forecast for one of the player is hight of 59 av. I am looking to upgrade my Brazil school in the near future but I imagine that a regular school in Brazil would but out some good players often.

I also have a school in Netherlands which is regular quality and I am getting my first player tomorrow so will update you then, but i am hoping for a decent player.

Interesting thoughts and facts, thank you guys

I realized though, you must invest a lot of time in a player to get him to a decent level. As Uruguay put it, it might take several
seasons for him to even matter on the pitch, but by that time if I progress to Division 3 let's say...then I'll have better players
anyhow...

So I guess it makes sense to invest in schools (better junior team, occasional great players, money from sales), but it's
an investment which yields (very) long term gains...so probably the more economical choices (Uruguay, Portugal, Croatia) make
the most sense...

I invested in low level Brazil, getting my youth on sunday. We will see how it goes. Next I'll build excellent in Uruaguay. If I build a low level and wait 14 days and upgrade to excellent a day before a youth is received, will I get an excellent one? Has this been confirmed or its just a theory? 07/04/2011 06:37
