Hi guys,

So ok...schools cost A LOT of money and I am frankly in doubt whether I should invest or not because I don't know what to expect.

Could someone clarify :

1. What kind of players (average skill & age) I should expect from an Excellent school in Netherlands or Argentina ?

2. How often do new players pop out of the school ?

3. Can players be kept in school for a season or two ? How much will their skill increase ?

OK...that would be it, thanks !

1 ) Schools will give you randomly players with randomly position . Netherlands and Argentina are very good school , we already know how strong they are
2 ) Depends on the population of the country , i guess u have to wait 10 days for either schools
3 ) Yes , but they won't train or improve . They'll get older and losing value

Good, thank you for that !

As follow up on question 1), what is reasonable to expect from an "Excellent" school ? Or to put it in another way, what kind of skill will the
players popping out have ? Is it 25 ? 35 ?45 ? ... 70 ? If random, well...within what reasonable limits ?

This is extremely important as it would be quite nasty to invest 40Mn in an Excellent school and have 25/12 players coming out...

Another question on finances : when I choose the school I see it costs 40Mn - in 500k weekly installments or smth.

While I am guaranteed to get 500k / week (from games, sponsors, accessories etc), I don't have 40Mn readily available.

Why does the game say "not enough money" ? Do I need all the cash upfront ?

Thanks !

I have a medium school in Uruguay , as u can see 3 of them in my squad . U have to have 40 mil to create that school and 500 K to keep it running , that's a lots of money , think twice 28/03/2011 19:10

I recently received a junior player from a school who has a 9 average and his progression is 87.5%. What does the 87.5% progression mean? Does it mean he will eventually progress to an 87 average or that he will train at that percentage?

Perhaps my experience with Schools can help.

I have 4 schools, all Normal quality. Two of the schools are from 60% quality countries, and the other two are 80% quality countries. They all generally take around 2 weeks to pop out 1 new junior (I went for cheaper lower population but respectable quality schools). I highlight whatever school is up next, and click details to find out what day exactly I'll get my next youth.

The youth that is generated has a lower average than they will be after you promote to junior squad (a new student in school in 15-20s average will be in high 20s-30s once you promote them from school to junior squad). I've found little noticeable difference between the four schools, all produce around low 30s students, with progression between mid 60s to low 80s).

This is the way that I understand progression:
Progression is very important; it's practically as important as your Coach. A high % training, such as the 100% from Organize Midfielders is actually 100% (1 average point) x Coach skill x Progression x Motivation. So 1.0 training (100%) x .90 (90% coach) x .75 (75% progression) x 1.05 (105% motivation) = a junior gaining .7ish every Organize Midfielders session.

The big benefit of schools is being able to see the Junior's progression, whereas a Scout charges Golden Balls for a +search. In addition, Juniors from schools are generally younger than Scout results. This is both a blessing and a curse since a junior is not ready to be promoted until they reach a certain average. An earlier post said that this was 15/70, 16/60, 17/50, 18/40. Unless your juniors/schools are superstars, dont expect them to be ready anytime soon; I haven't seen many 15 yr olds with a 70 average.

To see what average a player can achieve (when training doesn't help anymore), which is different than progression, you must spend 10 golden balls on a forecast of them. Some of my juniors are forecasted to mid 50s, but most are forecasted for mid70s.
