Question for you all -

Do you play a B side and rest your starters in this league, or do you play your A side? If you play A side, do they recover fully for league play? I'm conflicted. On one hand - I want to rest my A team. On the other, they are all mostly young with limited skills. I want them to get as much exp. as possible also. What to do? Would love your thoughts.

For now, I play a B side on the weekends.

I play a B side on the weekend. My A side won't recover enough even playing 0 effort on the weekend to have 99 stamina by Monday. And that gets my B side some experience as well.

i play a mixture of A & B 'cos i don't have enough depth within my team.
For my team, my A team do recover 99%stamina after the PL games. This to me is all about how you manage the stamina during the week matches. If u play too much of high effort during the week your players will surely lose much stamina which 0%effort cannot replinish

I vary it.
If I'm playing an easy team on Monday, I will be more likely to run my A team over the weekend, at least for one of the games.
Because I've never tried playing my A squad for 2 continuous weeks, I've not experienced too much stamina loss of my best players.

My tactics depend of currently result.... if i am in lead i pull down effort an vice versa... so my players lose around 15 points of stamina per game.... and because of that i can play with my A team 03/05/2014 20:28

I don't have a regular B team. But I do the same as sicox. It depends on my opponent on Monday.

One thing to add - if my opponent is way too tough (like 10+ assessment points better than I am) I put an entire squad on rest, while sending all my reserves on the pitch (no matter on the position match). I use to lose badly, but the main squad will recover nicely.

As I farm midfielders, I always have to put the quality ones upfront (mostly inexperienced, low average players). This is regardless of whether or not they have developed.

At the 15th minute mark, you'd see 70% of my A team in action.

So, whenever I win big games, I always smile because I know play a lacklustre team without quality - I mean, take a look at the people I call "defenders".

Man to Man v Zone Defense -- what are your thoughts? Especially later in the game when you factor in fatigue, what do you think is more effective? 04/05/2014 19:40

Man to man works better when the opposition's forwards are much faster than your defense, or when speed is their biggest threat.

Obviously, your defense will need to at least be equal in numbers to the opposition's attacks, or you're gonna have problems.

Zonal works better against slower attacks, or when you want to play the offside trap.

I guess the question of fatigue is interesting, as this can obviously have a huge effect on the speed of your opposition, but I guess only if your defenders don't tire as fast as their forwards somehow, or you sub. Taking subs into account, then, if your opponent switches more attackers on late in the game, a move to zonal might not be the best idea of you haven't got the speed in the defense to catch them.

That's my take, anyway.
