http://en.strikermanager.com/partido.php?id=15030570&accion=datos Big congrats to vgates today for a sterling effort against promotion rivals DSC Arminia. While the draw does nothing to help either team, DSC Arminia have a slightly harder fixture list remaining. Good luck vgates, you can still get them! I hammered what was, at the start of the season one of my on-paper rivals. As it happens, their results have not materialized as I predicted, and now their morale and stamina is lagging. 6-0 the final score over Rio Stars helps to maintain my very useful best GD. The 2nd v 3rd match today was a win-win for me. If the game had resulted in a draw, I think my chances of winning the league would have increased. If there was a winner, my chances of promoting increased. As it happens, then 3rd-placed CaDiz won 2-0, reaffirming my evaluation of them as my nearest rival. I play downtrodden BENFICA on Monday. A win for me and I am 2 points from promotion, otherwise I will need 9 from 12 to be sure. A draw would leave me needing 5 from the last 9 points, and I will still be top on GD. A loss...things start to get very, very close! I lost to BENFICA last time as I was generously/stupidly playing PL tactics for most of the game. Since then I have only dropped 2 points in 18 games, a draw against CaDiz. I am not taking anything for granted on Monday. I will take a draw, but I really want the win as CaDiz could still take the title from me. Wish me luck! |

I also slammed my effort today as it's Friday and have 2 days to recover. Still, this is good for me - if CaDiz can beat BENFICA with lower stamina, it may not be so tough for me on Monday. That's the theory, anyway. |

He will be one rich referee after that game I think...terrible decisions. |

I know that tomorrow everybody will say: that's football but it still hurts. But no one saw me yesterday when I was yelling at TV |

But no one saw me yesterday when I was yelling at TV As an England fan I have done my fair share of shouting at the TV. Usually when the penalties come around. Fortunately, I am not old enough to remember the Hand of God incident. I would have followed in the tradition of England fans everywhere and smashed the place up. My mother would not have been happy. |

I am not giving up and will fight all the way to the end in the hopes that DSC drops a game. I will need a loss from them being 2 points behind and no longer above - or even close - in GD. Monday is the next test when I play FA Tony. Last result was a stunning 3-0 loss to them, which had I won I would still be in 2nd. As it is now, I'll need a win over them just to continue to allow DSC to control my promotion fate. sicox, best of luck on Monday's game. A win and you appear to have the league title in hand! Will be cheering for you to lead the PL's list of promoted teams! |
