Should premiums be removed from the game?

I have a huge problem with the direct translation of external wealth into in-game success. I fully understand the need for generating revenue for the developers, and that other features available for purchase also provide an advantage to managers, but simply paying money for game play success seems over the line to me. I know they don't guarantee a result, but the concept behind them is contradictory to the spirit of the game in my opinion. I think there should be some sort of middle ground where the options provided by pack managers or golden balls have to be facilitated into an advantage by the manager using them. GB + Searches are a great example of this, where you have to decide what type of search to run and what type of player to buy, in addition to seeing the progression or fidelity of the players within the search. I have noticed quite often in the last few seasons that many teams use these boosts as a substitute to doing tactical work before big games. When push comes to shove at the end of a season or later on in the cup, we turn to premiums instead of managerial ability. For me, this is a problem that takes a lot of fun from the game. That said, have it heard that I don't fault anyone for using them as they are now. I understand that they are a legal part of the game and respect people for aspiring to win games by the best means they know how. I simply suggest that they should be looked at in terms of how they contrast the intentions of this game as a measure of managerial quality. I want to see people winning because they have developed better teams and better tactics, instead. Edited by Heidstra 10-03-2014 13:20 |

I agree. I think it's something that Uplay obviously makes some money on, but I think it's unfair to have a direct advantage for a game just based upon money. You at least still need some tactics and a decent squad for them to be effective, but if you had good enough tactics, an 80 av squad, and enough GB's to buy 20 premiums a game you could probably get yourself to div 1. I'd still like to see some sort of tactical GB payment thing, but I'm not sure what. Something that wouldn't give you an outright advantage, but would give you some insight into how an opponent plays or has played. So you still have to do the work, but you could know a little more than just watching someones game. |

PS: anyone wants to use premium against me (which i doubt , bc i suck this season ) , send me the GB worth , and i will let you win .. |

I think that the biggest difficulty we are having is with the sheer ambiguity. Without knowing anything about premiums and how they work, we are left to speculate about it and it becomes the shrouded image of paying to win games...something, something, something Serie A. I would much rather see a more tangible and explicit "boost" available, if one is needed at all. Perhaps something like "10 GBs to increase one of a players attributes 2% for a game" or "50GB to add an additional skill to a player for a game" would be more acceptable methodologies with an explicit, expected impact on gameplay (not to mention, even MORE money for developers). | 11/03/2014 12:18 |

mister cap said: Not completely true...in Italy only Juventus can buy a match.....for all the other it is not allowed I don't want to derail this thread for a stupid joke, but Juventus, AC Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio, and Reggina were all sanctioned in the 'Calciopoli' of 2006. |
