I would like to see a system in SM where members with higher experience vote on who should be made fiscals and mods on a seasonal basis. | 08/01/2013 18:38 |

Sreek, i'd like to know what you think it would achieve. You'd have the most popular people as @'s. @'s by definition are not popular. Im happy for this thread to continue if it is constructive. |

I think the only way something like this could work is if there was rotating fiscals and mods voted on by the current @'s. So say you've got 6 fiscals and 6 mods, and 3 of each are replaced each season, you've always got @'s around that would have experience and an @ term is set for 2 seasons. This way you've got a constant fresh rotation and your @'s aren't totally burnt out on doing their job. The issue I see there is that there are only so many people who would really want the job that would be qualified, so you're either going to end up with people who aren't really qualified to do the job, or you're just going to keep the same people, defeating the purpose of even having the rotation. You'd also end up with people complaining that the new guys suck and they want the old guys back. |

This isn't a democracy As a former fiscal, I think it is a really dangerous idea to open up the choice of fiscals and mods to popular vote. |

Yes. But it can't be like Martial Law of SM either. We should get some input if we're not trolling. | 08/01/2013 22:15 |

Oh no I'd agree completely, I was just throwing out what I saw as the only possible way that anything like this could be implemented. Leaving it up to a complete popular vote would be even more of a disaster. It would make the people who do the job fresh, but that sole benefit would be outweighed by the fact that there would be tons of inconsistency and potential for corruption. |
