What you're saying is you might as well say SM is an entirely new sport, with different rules and behavior to the game of football/soccer in the real world. I think the closeness of the simulator to the real game of soccer makes it much more enjoyable.
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree here...

Well, yeah, I guess so.

The reason why SM is such a great game is because the designers and programmers really have done an excellent job of simulating both the game play and the management console. (Kudos to you all, coming from a fellow programmer!)

The closer the game approximates to reality, the more enjoyable it is. For example, if you read the other threads around here, you'll see how frustrated people get about strikers who couldn't hit the side of a barn at ten paces, goalies who rush out at the oncoming striker and then suddenly get cold feet and start running back towards their goal, or wide defenders whose idea of a clearance is to pass the ball back to the center so that an opposing striker can intercept it. That kind of stuff doesn't happen in the real world, and it's frustrating when it happens in the simulator - and yes, it's no coincidence that it's called a "simulator". But most of the game play is very well done, and it's fun to watch a simulated game, because for a simulation, it's pretty damn close to real game play. So my suggestion follows my underlying idea, that if the closer a game is to reality, the more enjoyable it is, then making it more realistic will make it more enjoyable.

While I agree with your line of reasoning, implementing this now would only hurt newer players without established stadiums and increase the gap between the haves and have nots.

Plus we see in real life a team will rarely keep on upgrading their stadium every month which is possible here. And this will also really hurt players woth no gb as those spending real buck, will upgrade their whole stadium in a week and will loose next to nothing. This is game is awesome as it gives free users an equal chance to compete.
