elmilo said: Yes Uruguay1950, it's a great goal scored with a great counterattack..but in real soccer play with an high defense line is often dangerous, benefits and risks are balanced. In our game this tactic is over-used 'cause has minimum risk and a lot of advantages. Try to imagine the same action of the match transportated in SM: Guerrero would receive the ball, and immediately slow down (ok, run with the ball is difficult, but in SM players slow down too much in my opinion); then, he'd be reached by one of the defenders who would tackle him safely from behind, because probably wouldn't be punished with a red card (in my match against so daaa lazio i count at least 5 last-man fouls against me and no one defender was sented off). The result? Simply an innocuous free kick instead of the great goal we have seen. If will be implemented a system to recognise (and punish) the last-man fouls, probably people would use more wisely the offside, not as extreme as now. It's only to balance more accurately risks and advantages, bye Edited by elmilo 26-02-2012 04:22 +1 the last man tackles should not go unpunished... |

well another point is to improve the intelligence of the players, as they say it's defensive line when a team is attacking is near the middle of the pitch, but strikers do not stay in offside thinking, well my coach told me to stay here... they try to beat the offside trap.. also usually strikers are faster than defenders, so these are the risk of playing high offside trap... for instance, look at it, strikers in general, (striker, forwards, etc) are allways trying t stay behid the defensive line... and this is a big problem in SM, as strikers are always trying to get the positionthey are suppouse to get, i mean inside the box or wherever... and "passers" always try to make passes to players who are behind the defense, even passing bethe ball behind, which in fact it's quite good as strikers are already running and faster than defenders which doesn't let the defensive line to react in order to stop the attackers.. i guess this is what has to be changed, intelligence in the guy who is passing the ball, and the strikers... and ofcourse the red card problem <8even taking into account that this forum may be full of peopple complining about their defenders being sent off....) |

Something was done abj, they pretty much just reverted it and made offside traps strong again. So now we have the slow defenders that were meant to counter it, and still very strong offside traps. | 26/02/2012 18:12 |

Frankly I'd like to keep that from being carded as it keeps me from finding a new tactic Also making the defenders faster again would really lower the amount of times it's happening too, they'd be able to catch up better.
