You really have to fix the offside bug.
My players make passes to players that clearly are offside.
And people take advantage of this and place their defense really high all the time.
1 week to fix this or i am gone

LOL. This has been discussed in spanish version a looooooooong time ago... but offside is still being the best tactic in the game.

So they don't want to fix this bug then?
It's lame to play vs someone who takes advantage of a bug...

it's not a bug, it's a tactic.

watch a few div 2 games where teams are playing offside traps above the halfway line. see how the top teams deal with it, then use advance formation to develop your own tactic against these teams.

also, there are a few different ways of implementing an offside trap. the best thing to do is watch alot of games & try out different formations in friendlies.

And if you don't want your players to not make a pass to players who are offside? Where is that button? 25/02/2012 17:24

Watch a game of a real football match and you will see ( in some cases ) how close are the defenders to the ball.... then you should stop complaining, that some managers here, are doing the same thing ...

It is fun when u crack it! Then dilemma is what do u do when ur opponent changes his tactic in the middle of the game. Then you are screwed. So u set ur own traps to get ur own back. 25/02/2012 23:14

Yes Uruguay1950, it's a great goal scored with a great counterattack..but in real soccer play with an high defense line is often dangerous, benefits and risks are balanced. In our game this tactic is over-used 'cause has minimum risk and a lot of advantages. Try to imagine the same action of the match transportated in SM: Guerrero would receive the ball, and immediately slow down (ok, run with the ball is difficult, but in SM players slow down too much in my opinion); then, he'd be reached by one of the defenders who would tackle him safely from behind, because probably wouldn't be punished with a red card (in my match against so daaa lazio i count at least 5 last-man fouls against me and no one defender was sented off). The result? Simply an innocuous free kick instead of the great goal we have seen. If will be implemented a system to recognise (and punish) the last-man fouls, probably people would use more wisely the offside, not as extreme as now. It's only to balance more accurately risks and advantages, bye
