Heidstra said: My big issue with this, is that it happened mid-season. Now all the top teams in our divisions who played the weaker teams early on, were able to build a substantial goal differential lead. Now with this change, it's impossible for other teams to catch up with their goal differentials when they play the weaker teams! For some, this is the difference between titles, promotion or even relegation for the teams who weren't safeguarded. +1, make those important game changes at the end of the season if its not an obvious glitch. More importantly they were fun. |

ironically, my only 10-0 result was the day they announced this change. I still think this kind of result is in fact possible. What they removed was results like 27-0. You may not remember the length and number of threads of users complaining about these results. The current situation is less fun for big goal-scoring teams, but is definitely more in line with how football works on the real pitch. I disagree with this thread. Oh, and I won 6-0 today, so I don't see any real problems with better teams out-scoring worse teams. | 21/11/2011 19:19 |

heheh, that's hilarious It's like that movie Groundhog Day. CF shoots, curling wide. wakes up next morning, GK kicks it out wide left, your player picks it up, passes to OM, who passes to CF, who... shoots, curling wide wakes up next morning, GK kicks it out wide left, your player picks it up, passes to OM, who passes to CF, who... shoots, curling wide wakes up next morning, GK kicks it out wide left, your player picks it up, passes to OM, who passes to CF, who... shoots, curling wide wakes up next morning, GK kicks it out wide left, your player picks it up, passes to OM, who passes to CF, who... shoots, curling wide wakes up next morning, GK kicks it out wide left, your player picks it up, passes to OM, who passes to CF, who... .... It looks programmatically like the system limiter kicks in when your opponent has no attacking chances whatsoever. Your game is a prime example of the limitation of any "cheat" in an AI system. Probably a better way to solve high-scoring games would be to make the pitch slightly less gigantic relative to the size of the players, and to cut scoring chances down by upping defensive accuracy and reducing finishing accuracy. This would more likely mirror reality better, and make games as frustrating to watch as real-life football matches _ |
