This hostile clause is really helping we that 're in the red at times. I hostile an RF of 50 for 4M+ and the manager of the player inbox me that he's ready to pay me 8M+ for me to sell him back the player. We later reach a compromise and he payed a whooping 9M before i release the player back to him. You see, this at times can be very useful 02/11/2011 19:28

In the first place, I know NOTHING about soccer. The idea of managing a team is the reason why I signed up for this. The same goes for ibasket. This is a new sport for me so I want to get the feel of managing a team.

But with this hostile clause, that would mean anyone can steal players from other teams. If I overpay my players, how am I suppose to save and get out of the red zone? How am I suppose to invest on constructing a new stadium? How am I suppose the climb the division if I'll keep losing because richer teams will just buy my cheap good players?

And as we speak, someone just "stole" my GK because he is young and cheap. I have him contracted for 7 years and someone just bought him out. How can you protect your own players if someone richer will just buy them away from you whenever they want?

This is UNBELIEVABLE.

sorry, but you are ignorant...
never speak of things so lightly you have so very little knowledge about...
richer teams will not over-pay for a player + richer teams will not even look at your team- your players are to weak for them...
you are competing about your same level- intelligence and skill will make you climb up the divisions...
It just sounds you want to play a simple game... why don't you go play monopoly on pogo?

All I'm saying is let the original owner get a chance, let's say 24hrs, to match an offer by an outside team. I know it's a simulator and I really like it more than I hate it which is why i'm playing both sports. Only thing that keeps the game out of reality is the hostile clause in striker.

Scenario:
- Oh, my name is Rooney, I get paid maybe about $50M/yr playing for my country.
- Here comes team China.
- Hey Rooney, I'll pay you $100M/yr to play for China.
- Rooney: Okay, bye England.

Does this happen?? NO.

But all is good since I'm already adjusting with it.

I'll say that you're actually nice about the hostile clause and explain your views. Some players became rather belligerent after being hostiled.

I totally disagree with your above thought. The whole point (if not the whole, a major reason it is a part of the game) of the hostile clause is to punish cheap owners. Cheapies would learn nothing if they had 24 hrs to match. I don't so much care about reality - if you're making the reality argument then you should mention the transfer windows, international breaks, various other ways contracts are paid (performance bonuses etc), all of which would actually detract from the game. Well, maybe not the performance bonus piece, but that's another story.

The hostile clause is a great addition to the game. It keeps cheap managers honest, and it allow many managers to keep their key players. Or, it allows others to overpay significantly for a player. Both of which are good things. High salaries aren't bad. I say this about the hostile clause as someone who has had players hostiled, and who has hostiled players.

I'm suprised that you'r suprised at this.even in real life this also happens.wayne rooney's salary was increased to around 250k just because united started recieving threats from other clubs.if you can't pay your player well then someone that knows his value will.moreover you were given some days of protection too. 04/11/2011 07:20
