I've read that paying the money for a staff member to have a course increases the staff quality by "1%". What does this mean? Does this mean they increase their quality from 3 balls to 3.5 balls for example? Also, does it increase the weekly salary you have to pay them? I'm just trying to get a sense for why this feature was even created. It's so expensive to train staff members and the payout just doesn't seem worth it. Can a @ please explain the details of this feature a little further? |

I'm not an @ but I can explain. There are 2 types of training for your staff: Course and Degree. Courses cost game money and will add 1% to your staff members rating. Degrees cost golden balls and will add 2% to your staff members rating. You can only train your staff 5 times per staff member in any combination of training types. e.g. You can give your Coach 1 Course and 4 Degrees (9% improvement) or 4 Courses and 1 Degree (6% improvement) Your staff wages remain the same no matter how much you train them. The amount you can save can be significant in higher rated staff members. For instance, a coach rated 89% has a salary around 300K mark. If you were to hire a Coach at 99% his salary is around the 500K mark. You can train your 89% coach up to 99% with five Degree trainings. You get the maximum result for your players in training with this coach and you save 200K a week on his salary. If you want to see your staff members rating put your mouse over the balls next to their name in the staff screen. If you train a coach from 89% to 99%, he would go from 4.5 balls to 5. Thanks - that's really helpful. Last question: If I train a coach a few times, and then rehire a new coach with a higher %, will I lose all the percentages that I gained from the courses I gave the coach? thanks again for the help. |

Yep, that's why if you're going to train your staff you should make sure you're going to keep them. Not much point training staff of lower ratings because if you ever want to upgrade them later on you'll have wasted money or golden balls. Common practice is to hire staff 89% and above, and train them up to 99%. But of course, you can do whatever you want |

From Help page: You can afford the three first courses as you want (money game or golden balls), the last two can be took only with golden balls. |
