I am talking about the game in particular...

I believe anyone who truly understands the 'beautiful game' will agree that Liverpool was the most dominant of the two.

Charlie Adam should be ashamed of himself.

Disagree!

Rio Ferdy himself said in the post-match talk that there was contact although a minimal one.
True Adam could have remained up but nothing wrong if Adam went down.

If Smalling can pull Downing's shirt, Evra can fake an injury, handball in ManUtd box can be ignored than I guess Adam's fall too deserves to be ignored.

Sure there was some minimal contact, but certainly not enough to take Charlie or any other footballer down. You'd don't get to decide when you fall and when you stay up, that's ridiculous. Either the tackle impedes you or it doesn't -'choosing' to go down is called diving. And since when did falling down become a perquisite for calling a foul? If Charlie could have remained up, he needs to at least attempt to do that instead of hooking his boots in the dirt two feet behind Rio. Had he stayed up, and it been deemed a foul, the ref would play an appropriate advantage or called it back if the scoring chance was less ideal than before the contact. Selling it should never be a player's intent.

I'm not going to endorse your "balance" opinion. This is partly because it's silly to claim Downing's was the only shirt pulled all game, that the frustrated Aguero boot to Evra's legs didn't hurt (not to mention the constant racial slurs he uttered at Evra all game, which warranted far more then just a sending off), and that this was even close to a penalty call (not to mention the same thing happening in the Liverpool end). Mostly, it's because none of these things are even relevant to Charlie's dive. Even if all of these were true, does that give a player the right to undermine the rules of the game? Fairness isn't about balancing calls, it's about getting as many as you can correctly. As a player, it's your job to endorse the rules and beat the other team, not the referee. Instead of trying to beat United, Charlie aimed to beat the Ref. For me, that is shameful.

I concede that "balance" opinion I gave earlier isn't valid by anyway!
But, the way I have seen football being played is that the players choose to fall down when they deem it to be a good place for a dead ball situation. Since FIFA or no other body hasn't raised any issues over it I guess its part of the game. And is this diving? Not really! (To know what is diving one can see the first leg of UCL game b/w Barca and Real Madrid.)

And the thing about racial abuse is that as of now it is "ALLEGED". Not proved yet. And if it does it is a shameful condemnable act. No doubt about that.
