Look at your forwards

Still doesn't seem correct somehow...

I'll see how tonight goes, I have SAVES, so will see the GK's. Thanks though.

OK, it worked, my GK's only went up, and it shows what and how much in their stats. Not much though. But I guess everybody has it the same. Cheers.

Definite fail. My players being trained are only improving very little. These are the same players who were making huge gains in training last season. So unless my players progression was altered the training is not working yet. I know people are going to say I'm wrong, but Id like to think I know a little about how training works in this game... Or how it used to.

How it used to, welcome to a brave new world.

I know not much more than you do. But people complained last season about short careers. This season, long careers will mean slower improvement.

Now it's more realistic training.

and i thought the virtual world is faster. if we try to match the real world then for 10-15 year good player will stay in the game. thats too much. i think that will slow down the games interest of buying and selling

There seems to be a small problem @s. My junior squad isnt training at all. I had set saves for 2 days and Penalty saves for 2 days, there seems to have no effect on the juniors. Can anyone help please. 06/10/2011 08:14

The gains for my whole squad are less than I was getting for a single player last season. That seems like too drastic a change.

I like the idea behind the changes and applaud the you guys for addressing the travesty of managers just training midfielders with no thought or planning about team formation or squad depth. But it seems to me there is still a big problem.

How will lower teams catch up if training is so slow? Well they won't will they, no matter how well they plan their training.

I would like to see a game where managers who think and plan and work hard can become successful in a reasonable time scale even if they are starting from division 7.

A lot of teams from division 3 have great teams not because they are fantastic managers but because they found the easy route to success through training single groups of players (mainly midfielders). The good managers from lower divisions need greater opportunity to catch up with these guys.

I think this is a step in the right direction but it needs a bit of a tweek.

MVP of the game
Very well said. There is a top balance of power in this game. Me, I'm stuck right in the middle, so I've felt a bit of the joy of the RICH and the pain of the POOR.

One of my best players (potentially, given his position and crazy high progression) was hostiled yesterday. I set his clause to a reasonable amount and am not complaining about it (I renovated my stadium with the funds), but it was what I could afford. At the end of each week, I'm always near broke. If I raise salaries even more, then I'll be in the red every week. And even when I try to raise the clauses on some of my players, the starting clause is around 1/2 of what it originally was (which means I have to pay my players double, just to keep the clause the same!!! and 4X to double the clause!!!)

Blame poor financial management, but still, even if I did a very good job with that, the salaries would not be that much higher. The point is, even us middle ground guys are going to get hosed by the upper echelon.

Training is one of the hugest parts of this game, hopefully, that won't get out of control like the finance situation (disparity between the top teams and the noobs, and even the middle ground).

I even have a bit of a conspiracy theory about the training, but it's probably paranoia.

You made me cry
But I agree the game structure really needs some enforcements to ensure parity remains in the squad strength of the veterans and new guys like us.

In some ways I have to agree. If the training stays the same, we will never catch the top teams.

Last season, I was attempting to train my players up, rather than just buying. It was working. I was on track to have a really good team in about 2 seasons time. That 2 seasons is going to be around 4-5 seasons now. By then the top teams will have so much money I will never catch them. They can just buy my best players.

Same here, now I'm thinking of completely abandoning junior training. The money I save in wages can go into the stadium and eventually return more just to buy in players. I don't mind being hostiled (happened a few times) when I know I can build a good team up and have the juniors up and comming. Now I've nothing to fall back on except the money I've been building up for a rainy day. 06/10/2011 21:57
