In 75% of the users complaining so far it has not been bug related - its been advanced tactics that are too complicated that have caused havoc.
Stick to one formation for a few weeks until you've mastered it. Changing formations mid game is very advanced and may not be beneficial anyway.

Take the 442b as you main one. Copy that to "My formation 1" or something. get that formation how you like it. Copy "My formation 1" to a new one - "new formation 2". All the players are in the right places still. Now say for example you want to change to 5-3-2.

Decide which players you are going to sub. So maybe LM is going to be your new CDF. Pull the LM back to CDF. Move the 3 remaining mids around to make up for the missing player. Save the new formation

In advanced tactics, pick when it will happen and pick the sub of LM for CDF. Pick change formation from "new formation 1" to "new formation 2"

What ever you do don't change between stock 5-3-2 and stock 4-4-2b, it will pull your players all over the place.

I had enough problems getting my original formation to work. Experimenting with midgame formation shifts will have to wait. 05/10/2011 19:33

I agree it's very complicated, easy to get wrong and to be honest makes you keep a lot of players you don't use very often in your squad. Which costs you money. 05/10/2011 19:35

I forgot to mention. If in "New formation 1" you played around with the advanced formation. The in "new formation 2" you'll need to set where each of the players are going to be for each of the 24 boxes you can drop the ball into. Otherwise, the first thing your subbed in CDF will do is run up the to the LM position. 05/10/2011 19:40

If i have a formation that is using one striker up front, with a tactic to change to a formation of two strikers if I go one goal down, how will the system know how to change the oncoming player to fit in the position of the second striker. I looked at this by just changing my formation from one striker to two strikers and it does not arrange the players in the right order in their positions...

is there a way to go about this?

In my game today I had a formation change set in adv. tactics with 3 subs. The formation seemed to change cos my LF who was coming off for a DMF started playing in front of the back 4.I am sure no subs came on and the other two players were not as easy to see out of position but the LF playing as DMF could really have messed up my game.

The game does not show player numbers or names.. so its pretty hard knowing who or whom is playing in which position 06/10/2011 01:20
