I was surprised and disappointed by today's announcement that said the admins are happy with the bugs fixed in the sim. Many of the crucial bugs are still present (games hanging, many incorrect offsides calls or incorrect non-offsides calls, goal kicks hanging then turning into opposing team's CF kicking the ball at the goal, players switching position or ignoring formation entirely).

By what standard is this sim ready for league play? If any of the games go the wrong way because of these known bugs, are you promising to correct and re-run them?

Could someone at least provide a list of the bugs supposedly fixed so we don't feel like you're completely ignoring us? Reminder: we are your paying customers.

Perhaps I was unclear: I have been watching them. The bugs I listed were all in my friendlies from yesterday and the day before. 29/09/2011 04:05

I'm going to offer my opinion, because I think we only get one side of the story on the forums (usually the negative side). Obviously their are some users who have experienced what they consider drastic problems -they've made it quite clear over the past few days. Just so people know, this isn't unanimous. I'm not convinced it's even a majority. I don't condone the bugs, or having to play important games that can be affected by them, but I want people to hear a little more of the whole story.

Personally, I've played 15-20 games -from friendlies and private league- on the new simulator. Firstly, I've never had a game freeze, and I've watched the majority of them live. At first, there were some odd penalty calls and some peculiar decision making by players. I admit that. I have noticed a huge improvement however. Corners now seem more realistic, goal kicks have been spot on for me, and free kicks seem to work well. Throw-ins are still a bit of an issue, but I consider that very minor (especially when it's the same for both teams and rarely results in a meaningful advantage). As far as offsides go, I think 95% of the calls have been correct -most resulting from players returning from an offside position (they appear well onside when receiving the ball, but upon replay are actually off). I think 5% of the calls being incorrect reflects a very realistic situation, especially when all the calls are close ones. Apart from that, the wrong team has been celebrating during the shootout goals -though this needs to be fixed, it's completely trivial to the actual process of the game.

As far as tactics go, and people finding players out of position, I have noticed that. That being said, I think thats a beautiful thing and the best addition I've seen yet in the simulator -It's definitely the most realistic. For the longest time, my IM was always far ahead of my CF and I couldn't figure out why. Like you all, I thought it was a bug and was rather annoyed. After experimenting, however, I realized I was at fault. I was simply giving the IM too much ground to cover. He had to track back and defend in his own box, while also going forward into the opponents 18 yard box. My CF only had to cover the centre line until the goal line -he was able to play his position and keep up with the play much better. The IM simply couldn't get into the areas I had laid out for him, and keep up with the pace of my ball movement. My tactics were the ones holding him back. Since adjusting his route, he has played beautifully. Looking at the final game ratings, he was always in the 30s. Since the change he's been 60+ each game. I have since adjusted the roles of my fullbacks, and this has also been reflected in their personal ratings and my teams overall play.

Clearly training hasn't been implemented, but I don't know of anyone being too negatively affected by this (no one got to train while others couldn't). Some people wasted temp-promotions, but I'm sure that can be corrected. I can't make a judgement on this until I've experienced it, so I won't.

Now I don't know how one creates a simulator like this one, or how problems occur within it. I also recognize that others have found problems of different types and magnitudes. Many of them put money into the game, which makes it difficult to accept these errors. This hasn't happened for me, but I won't deny them. I just hope we can all realize that our personal situations aren't unanimous. Hopefully my case can be a glimmer of hope on these seemingly cloudy prospects and an example of how things will be for all in the future.

kind of a rude attitude, especially considering all the effort I've put into helping you in the past...let's not hijack this post. 29/09/2011 04:45
