Champions division playoffs

Every major sports league has it's playoffs. Let's have one for SM. An end of season knock out tourney would take 7-9 days MAX (since it's exponential). (top 4 teams in each group after the last game of the season, get entered, maybe have wildcards (according to the best records with goal differential as tie breaker) to make the total number of teams even (a factorial of 2)) Just a game every day, with a one day break before the final final. Grueling playoffs at it's best! It will be over very quickly, with a divisional winner and runners up getting prizes  When the season starts, we will be in the group stage. But we have nothing at the end of the season. The striker cup is great, but alot of good teams get knocked out early and there is no real qualifying. It's another incentive to do well in the regular season Teams that don't make it in, or get knocked out early, can play friendlies (and by now, we are all good at that... lol) Let's have a Champions Cup for each separate division at the end of the season. Quite a few people have been hosed by the Striker Cup. Let's have these tournaments at the end of the season to make up for it  If you know of a better format, please suggest. My brain is waayyy overworked and more nutty than ever right now. |

wont work. so you will have say 4 teams playing for a cup in div 1 (there are only 20 teams in div 1)? and 8 teams in div 2? I do support having some sort of competition for each division but not this way. And i dont know how it could be implemented. Edited by solirocket 29-09-2011 13:07 |
