The Nigerian Under-17 national team today defeated Mexico 3-0 to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirate. Impressive play by the Nigerian side led to an early goal inspired by a tireless player, Musa Yahaha. Another Nigerian prolific attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho scored a second goal in the 56 minute while a third goal came off the feet of Musa Muhammed through a powerful free kick at the 81 minute.

This is the fourth time Nigeria will be winning the U-17 FIFA World Cup.
The country thus sets Record As The Highest Trophy Winning Side At The U-17 Level. Nigeria is the most successful nation at the tournament by wining it four times having won the title three times previously in 1985, 1993 and 2007. It's 4 titles for Nigeria on the Asian soil. Its another proud record. Alampasu deserves the Man of the match award. Nigeria has also set the record for higest goals scored by a team in the U-17 World Cup, scoring an all time high 26 goals,Nigeria also picked up the tournament's fair-play award,Dele Alampasu was awarded the Golden Glove for being the best goalkeeper and Kelechi Iheanacho was awarded the Silver Boot for being the second top scorer and Golden ball for being the Most Valuable player.
