There was a time that players were bought for about 50% of the club's revenue. When did you start following? Yesterday? Jose always has a list of players he wants. He gives the list to the board. It the boards job to make sure he gets his prefered players. Last season, he wanted perisic. It doesn't make sense to buy a striker who loves scoring from headers and not having a out and out crosser in the team. The board thought that 40-50 m was too much for perisic. Any one who watched manchester united's games will know how much we missed a decent crosser. This summer he says that he submitted a list of 5 players that he wanted to the board months ago. He has gotten an injured back up right back, a centre mid to replace carrick. That's 2/5 that the board has delivered. If the board gets you 40% of the players you need, how are you going to get the first place when your main rival ( guardiola ) is getting everything he wants? United finished second in the prem last year. The only reason people expected us to finish first was because of mourinho's second season history. The hype was never about the team. It was all about mou. We came second to a team who didn't just have a first team that was sexy, but also a second team that could have finished in the top 4. If you want mourinho to win the prem, then you at least got to give him all he wants. If you don't give the man what he needs to win, then you can't blame him for not winning.
