The news of Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer from Real Madrid to Juventus for a record signing fee of Euro105 million for a player over 30 yrs old, made me wonder once again why the retirement age in this game has dropped so much. I think that the absolute minimum for retirement in the game should be at 34 years old. It's been a while now but if my memory serves me correct, when I first joined the game back in 2011 I believe it was 35 yrs which is much more realistic. What do you think? |

I think so. IIRC it has dropped twice since 2011, might be wrong doesn't make much of a difference anyway. 33 yrs old is just too early for a retirement age. |

It dropped from 38 to 33. 35 would have been more reasonable, imho. |

Blimey, 38yrs! My aging brain doesn't remember it if I'm honest, but yes 35 would be the optimum. A good middle ground, neither too young or too old. |

You can still see it in the market. For "age' there is a search range for 30-38. |
