 In late promotion (i.e when the red P appears), for everyday the player spent in the youth team, the progression decrease by 1 till it turns 0 (the player will start to decline training).

For early promotion (i.e before the yellow P appears).
if you promote a player by that time.

 But what if the player 16yrs old and the yellow P appears and you promote the player, is that also an early promotion.

 The yellow P only means 'they can be promoted' not 'they must be promoted'.
