Training increases average on a permanent basis until the player reaches an age where his peak has been met, plateaued, and then eventually declines similar to an aging player in RL. The higher the motivation, the higher the training, the higher the average increase. Players permanent average may be temporarily decreased based on morale, which can be recovered by running the psych each night. This is explained well in the FAQ and Tutorial that every player should read before posting questions here.
