I believe there's a reason the forum tab exists in this game. I'd confidently say the developers thought it wise that users share opinions, suggestions, simply make small talk and in the spirit of 'gaming' have fun interacting with other users. That's the reason we have several tabs under the forum such as suggestions general, off topic. While keeping in mind this is a game and we are all here for some little fun and chest thumping, I'd like to point a very disheartening trend where fiscals 'force-close' chats even in instances where the said chats do not in any manner contravene the rules of this game. For instance why would you close a suggestion thread that has an 80% support? In the spirit of 'just - sportsmanship and gaming' let's loosen up a little. It's small talk, it won't hurt anyone. My two cents. |

Here's one reason: http://en.strikermanager.com/foros/hilo.php?id=467452 That just took a good 20 minutes for me to correct misinformation put out. That's 20 minutes I could have spent resetting sysbot teams. Another reason is experience, which shows that the forums quickly deteriorate if they are not policed. This has been happening at an increasing rate, perhaps due to what appears to be a large increase of very young managers. A third reason is that every time someone posts the same question that was already answered, it is another search entry return slot that has just been used up. For the most part, we let the Off-topic forum alone as long as it is civil. There are chat rooms that can be used. There are tons of old league forums from past seasons that many managers use for chatting so there are ample places for the idle chit chat. The regular forums should not be used for that. |
