Do you think that this is a GOOD IDEA? THE JTP TROPHY

Can we have a Johnstones paint trophy please? I have a suggestion. please Take ALL Div6-div4 teams OUT of the striker cup, and please make the JTP trophy between all of us. and let div3-div1 battle for the striker cup. and then the winner of both cups meet each other in ''The Super Cup'' please? do you think that this is a good idea? this tournament will offer much more opportunity of different sides to win trophies. also the prize money for winning the JTP trophy should be ALOT but not quite as much as the striker cup. keep the fundamentals the same with a knockout competition. JPT trophy means, Johnstones paint trophy . Think about it, more OPPURTUNITY. sides don't have to be knocked out early and can have a proper run in the cup. |

There are technical reasons to reject the suggestion. A poll won't change that. League system is pyramid. that means Div 6 to 4 have too many teams, and divs 3 to 1 too few. The current system makes the cup calendar fit perfectly with the number of teams in the game. If you splitted the teams that way, both cups would be much shorter than the calendar, and even worse, one cup would be much longer than the other. And the striker cup, which is the most important, would be too short, due to the few teams in divs 3-1. |

Winfried Schafer: I got an idea, why don't u change the number of teams in each league? add more div 3-1 teams. make some leagues have 22-24 teams, give more clubs oppurtunities. and the BEST IDEA of the lot: ADD A PLAYOFF, in each division! Make 7th-3rd play eachother , in a playoff , a knockout play off and the winner gets PROMOTED as the 3rd team. make 3 teams get promoted in each division. add more excitement |

What's a good idea? Use the "Search Button", or scroll through some pages of this forum. Because you'll find a similar thread after every 3 or 4 pages with much worse criticisms for the poster. |
