My defenders were having fun today.. They took every PK after my RF. They cost me the hope of winning via PK.

Let's raise some discussion about tactics.

Anybody having CLEAR understanding on the relationship between advanced tactics and tactics (red, yellow, green bars)?

If i say CLEAR, I mean something more detailed than "advanced is main tactics, and bars are tuning". I have a feeling, that bars can strongly override advanced tactics settings. Even if I set positions in advanced tactics, with bars I can put players completely elsewhere. What is the sense then and what is the relationship. Anybody has some EXACT experience?

Moreover, how do you handle advanced tactics when your team is attacking and when your team is defending? I would place my guys differently when defending and differently when attacking. Anything to share?

More and more I am coming to conclusion that bars are more precise when using man to man marking than zonal play. Sure, a player will go out of position while chasing the opponent but generally they will move more in the area where bar is set. Whil if playing more zonal, opponents tactic and pressure can and will push the whole line down if opponent sets up dominance in middfield (for example)
That is why no matter how high I put red line, or yellow line, when playing against stronger opponents, my DFM ends up riunning behind my CDF and my forwards go way back waiting for the ball.

The zonal play make players run away from opponents and waiting too long and that is why I think it is happenening. While man to man marking make your players more direct and the lines hold on.


That is just my hypotetis, I might be very wrong. But that is how I see it.

I was never looking at the different behavior man-to-man vs zonal. I will give it a check.

Basically, when you check mobile version, all three zones (red, yellow, green) have list boxes labeled as Forward on one side and Delayed on the other side. I would say, that this indicates how quickly players are moving to the zone together when ball moves. I think, that when opponent kicks a ball, the simulator knows, where the ball will be in 1 secon let's say. And if your bars are high, players are not moving immediately to the positions defined by advanced tactics. On the other hand, when they are too low, players tend to quickly move to the position. And even if the ball is close to the player, he rather moves to the positon than to try to get the ball.

Just trying to understand the sense of those "forward" and "delayed" wording. As in the list boxes, they are in reverse order. Like bars high = delayed. Bars down = forward. Looks like "delayed" means that player moves from attack to defense with a delay. And forward means "ahead of time". I do not quite get it.

Because when I set the bars too low, my defense returns as far as to the goal line even if the advanced tactics says something else.

when you do, try not to modify the sliders - they are very opposite to the PC's.

Erhm. I'm not very sure bout the info I'll be giving.
To me, I make use of mobile.. I think the (Forward) & (Delay) slot is trying to explain the rate at which your players perform around the pitch.
(Forward) :- Simply showing the rate at which your forward or defense will attack.. For defenders, it shows how far they'll go in pitch.(man to man marking outside box).

Delay :- my thoughts are; it shows how defensive your defenders can be during a game, they won't overlap.
Whilst for forwards & midfield.
It shows how far they'll fall back to assist the back line.

For me,
I set my tactics in between, so.. They'll do the both (Forward & Delay) at Random.



It seem to work well for me. For, I spent more times, studying the both of them.

I may be 100% wrong bout this info. A nice correction is most likely welcomed.
