.3.4Play: Short Passes vs Counterattack (Long passes) – short passes will ensure higher possession and a lower risk of losing the ball to the opposition. Long passes used in counterattack situations can be very effective to wide players or central strikers and can nick you a quick goal. However there is a much higher risk of losing the ball in a 50/50 situation. Counterattack can be employed by teams playing stronger opposition in conjunction with other tactics.
