I recently switched to training forwards in juniors and this is the schedule that I've prepared. Thought I can get some sticks from those who're training forwards. (First 9 days) Attacking Headers Sprint Dribbling Shots on Goal Penalty Shots Beating markers Crossing Sprint Shots on goal (Next 9 days) Beating markers Attacking headers Shots on goal Sprint Dribbling Penalty Shots Beating markers Crossing the ball Shots on goal Would you add or remove anything from these? I'm not a fan of 7/7 sets, so I usually train with 8 or 9 programmes in a repeat. |

I'd do only 5 in rotation Crossing Headers Shots BeatingMarkers Sprint Dribbling is really only for OM. Also, penalties add more leadership than these 5 add their traits, and you can catch up leadership later much easier than you can add the other traits. |

I added dribbling for CFs since they get trained to 50% of their daily capacity plus still have 2 OMs to support. I'll remove penalty shots, though. Seemed like waste of a day when I was listing them all out. |

Some people train only OM's.. because you can't optimize OM training if you're training xF, and vice versa. For OM's, you need 2 trainings from xIM and one from xDF in their list [passing, shots, dribbling, running, intercepting]. I was reading the sheet wrong, though -- you're right, dribbling has to be there. Crossing Shots Header Dribbling Markers Sprint Edited by Buckeye623 29-09-2015 19:30 |

Crossing Shots Header Dribbling Markers Sprint Edited by Buckeye623 29-09-2015 19:30 I'm going to sell those OMs sooner or later this season (waiting for the market to become short of good cheap players). Till then they can follow my new philosophy. They'd get shots+dribbling and nothing else. From your point, I'm reminded of the fact that beating markers increases more points on the same traits as dribbling. So starting tomorrow, I'm keeping a pen-paper on the side to help further optimize this schedule. Without OM's, i did take out dribbling as well. Penalty shots for attackers are just like man to man for defense. They increase only the average nothing better. | 29/09/2015 19:47 |

Penalty shots OUT! So now I'm gonna try and alternatively add Beating Markers and Shots on Goal in its place. |

I have a 7 day training for my junior forwards, Attacking headers x2 (improves Finishing, Speed & Technique) Beating markers x2 (improves Dribbling, Speed, Strength & Technique) Crossing ball x2 (improves Finishing, Speed, Strength & Technique) Sprint x1 (improves well, speed) Have this over and over each week and it has really improved my forwards by a lot... |

Worth trying, though if you'd add shots on goals, their finishing would improve faster. Eg. http://en.strikermanager.com/jugador.php?id_jugador=19924596 |

I wouldn't look to see "what" they improve Just look to see if it's the #1 or #2 in a category -- because the gap between 2 and 3 is usually a lot, and you don't care if something is improved .01 For example: Training CDF i use Running w Ball to improve technique. It improves other things, but it's by far the best at cranking CDF technique. So: Crossing - passing, and #2 in several. Attacking Headers - #1 in RF/LF finishing, and #2 in CF finishing, and #1 in technique&aggressiveness Shots onGoal - #1 in CF finishing and #2 in RF/LF finishing. Dribbling - #1 dribbling for CF, #2 dribbling for RF/LF. Sprint - #1 in speed and strength. Beating Markers - #1 in dribbling for LFRF/#2 in dribbling for CF. Also #1 in ballsteal. The above analysis is also how you could target RF/LF vs CF for players who aren't prog/FC > 90. This is one reason why CF cost more than RF/LF: RF and LF require less training variation! CF: Crossing ShotsonGoal AttackingHeader Dribbling Sprint [Add in BeatingMark and Penalties every now and then if you have a really good player] LF/RF Crossing AttackingHeader BeatingMarker Sprint [Penalties every now and then for some leadership] Edited by Buckeye623 29-09-2015 20:31 |
