Seriously, I think we need moder@tors on forum and not fisc@ls!

Moderator is just a lower level fiscal. Back when the game was newer we had a selection of moderators and fiscals, but moderators had limited tools. Over time we learned that there wasn't any point in not having everyone just be a fiscal. So new @'s start as moderators and when they're ready they're moved to fiscal. Fiscals are just advanced moderators, there isn't a difference.

No, moder@tor "specializes" on forum.....

There is much to moderating, you know? Most managers always go unsatisfied or get infuriated with the replies they get from other managers to their questions in which a quick intervention by @(mod) would have been better!

It's obvious that the forum is dying, and that's one of the problem!

Moder@tors controls the forum actively, where the work of fisc@l is limited!

No, this is not at all true. All @'s are tasked with monitoring the forums regardless of if they're a fiscal or moderator. This has always been the case. It's just that moderators are beginning @'s and fiscals have more knowledge of the game and the rules behind fines and the rules. We realized there was no real point in having people be moderators for very long because they'd get questions like needing to reset teams or doing other things only fiscals can do.

The forums are dying because the game is also slowly dying off. The general forum is nothing but 10 reset requests a day and the occasional doubt and question. It has NOTHING at all to do with not having specific @'s labeled as moderators.

I don't know why you want to question my knowledge of what @'s actually do when I've been one for quite a while now.

So another outrage for a plain advice to taking whatever it is you call it to off-topic? Seriously?
Will you ever tell your kid, "Dear, don't forget to wipe your a** after you take a dump." Probably yes...? or maybe not? 12 year olds on this game aren't any different then. I'll tell you I have seen an 8 year old play here, so sometimes, yes it's good to take care they don't learn something like this from here.

Who thinks there is one and only one way to have fun? I troll on my press releases, I used to do it on forums when I was a regular and yes I was an @ too then. But I have never gone this far with my usage of humor as you're doing Mr. Spade. Even though I'd encourage you and everyone to get involved in more healthy discussions (you don't, truth!), I'd also expect your mature minds to know how far you can go with humor.

Now the reason why I acted on your last post - Every single day one or the other fiscal has to deal with some fresh crap, normally it's me who has to because I act on most requests via forums. Deleting repeated threads, closing solved ones that becomes a hub of flooding posts after, editing misleading posts - this is not something you're going to do Mr. Spade, it's us. And here comes a comment that has gone too high on the trolling scale, imagine how much of it will be a burden on us to stop and tell 10 more trolls like you who will fill the first comment on a thread showboating their sense of humor.
Spare our fingers Mr. Spade. Not something you can do?

Of course what you must do is act on the fact Illex has given us. If forums are dying, encourage your PL mates to check these forums and contribute to them. Do whatever bit you can do, share tips, ask, anything.
My PL mates do that and they form a majority among people who're acting to keep the forums alive.

I don't intend to close this thread as it hasn't been turned around like the previous one.

A very nice piece of infomation for those that are not aware of it!

Also, Resets and other personal issues going on general forum can be treated at PMs I think.....

Anyway, you know more that I do, boss!

Kudos to you guys for the good work.

More grease to your elbow!

Exactly brezz!

It all started when all what the @s want to do on forum is to "help managers and not the community" ;closing threads, editing posts are secondary. Helping the community goes far beyond this!

The primary assignment of moderators is to keep the forum running by regulating etiquette, maintaining good relationship, encouraging a warm and condusive atmosphere, managing behaviours and extablishing influence!

Post like "can everyone check the forum rules" can save a thread before it goes out of hand. Closing thread should be the last resort, you don't need to close every thread, you can fix it with your own post then call managers to order if necessary, you can edit if the manager doesn't and advice bans, don't promise it!

The fact that moderators need more tools as you said @Illex thereby promoting them to fisc@ls doesn't stop them from moderating and by moderating, I mean helping the community not just the managers in need!

It might not be easy for a fisc@l to moderate efficiently because of too many tools and abilities which might otherwise tends to egocentrism, but for moderator since that's his area of specialization, moderation is a great work on its own and the major tool required is your own post on forum, nothing much else you are killing it. It will be much more easier if activeness on forum is considered when imploring moder@tors!

That's exactly what I meant by my first post here!

Moderation role on forum is inevitable, we need it to resuscitate our darling dying forum now.

We all talk about Uruguay1950 but @grantis and @rebsiot to mention a few of them are the brain box behind him.... You always see them supporting his trolls with more humorous post and better explanation or reply to the question he trolled on, which in turn add more fun to it and tell other managers of his importance on forum, that's moderation!

Will you ever tell your kid, "Dear, don't forget to wipe your a** after you take a dump." I would advice every parent to tell that to their young child.

You just made this personal. I tried very hard to put this thread up not as @yoyoyoyoyo vs Spade, but your above post just turned it into one. So now I will reply as per your tone.

What exactly offended you in the post? Use of the word 'arse'?, if so than its you who is less mature then 10-12 yr old. Arse or ass (buttocks) is english word and a part of the body and is taught to children as well. Neither was the use of it offensive nor the context in which it was used derogatory. You say I have taken my humour far: Kindly provide examples and don't just talk in air; I would be really interested to see what is too far in your opinion. I know its personal for you, because in the same time, elsewhere in the forum (not OFF-Topic) I can show you example of much worse usage, and you have not even lifted your fingernail.

Just because you don't get my brand of humour, does not mean its not right. You may not understand the context behind it or just perhaps you put value on different brand of humour, perhaps slapstick is more of your cup of tea. BUT that gives you no right to set the threshold or the limit of how the humour should be laid down. Every person is different. Respect that. As long as no one is harming the spirit of the forum as per the rules, which I don't believe I was, it shouldn't matter how a person uses his/her words. You are guilty of excessive moral policing, and are having a difficult time admitting to it. You are a fiscal, and you have powers, but don't get to set moral guidelines for everyone. We all are educated people here and can think for ourselves.

As per the @'s role. I have tremendous respect and admiration for those who do this job. I have seen many @'s come and go with their own brand of censorship, but no one was guilty of unnecessary moral policing. I have been pulled up before, and at one occasion i did realize the folly and made sure it did not happen. But so far you still have not been able to point out what exactly was offensive. If you feel there is too much crap (your words) and you can't be bothered with your fingers, perhaps its time to retrospect and step backwards from being a @.

My PL mates are very active and few are @'s, who I truly applaud for giving guidance to many in the forum while also trolling time to time. As for the trolling part, not all trolling is bad, or else all memes and witty remarks would be outlawed in every forum on internet. Trolling is a way to express yourself... its reality and its here to stay. except it. What it shouldn't do is harm the conversation from deviating. or moving forward. Since you probably haven't checked, I am usually very careful on how i comment, If i want to use humour, I might answer the question directly in a funny/sarcastic (my brand, perhaps not yours) way or AFTER the main question IS answered. Trolls are of every kind, some who are just offensive and disruptive, some who add the conversation. Your job is to determine that, not put all in one basket you call URU.

So don't moral police on what YOU like don't say around children, this is not a community from where you stay, but rather a global one. Understanding sensibilities and having a birds eye view is the level of maturity most @'s have or need it on a internet forum, regardless of whether it is Striker Manager or any other.

Don't want to be a lawyer for anyone, but I guess the main concern of @mods, fiscals whatever is the domino effect that is known to occure in casual dialog which I guess @5yo don't won't to happen in threads that are ment to be for help.

By domino effect I mean, 1 user goes to slight off topic in a doubt and question thread, then few follow and in a second you have 2 pages of off topic which, to be honest, I saw many times lately.

To be clear, I have nothing against little humor and even off topic, if it goes down after the question was resolved.

Forums used to fun.I remember the time of uru ^_^ and many other managers who used to keep it running.but since then censoring by @s became strict and slowly it all died. This post by spade was totally harmless.I remember a post where some managers used to post pics and videos by name "beautiful girls" or something and moderators allowed it saying managers can post as long as girls in pic wear more than one sees in beaches and are not harmful.Ofcource the post was deleted cause someone broke the rule. But the point is as long as things are not offensive humour and pointless posts should be encouraged. So

Been away for some time and all these happened? Waoh. We all love Uru he is unique and secondly, he is always there to make you want to login more. I heard the chat died off because of excessive policing and now the forum is just 2mins behind the chat.
Moreover we need some funny stuffs to keep the game going. It pisses me off to see 'how can i avoid offsides' everyday in the forum. Nothing new, nothing to put some smile and encouragement in you to login more.
And hey guys take it easy on yourself. This is just an online game nothing more.
EDIT: Stealing someone else's suggestion is a serious crime in this game. This is an example of a post that need tobe deleted or locked with a two years ban.(Kidding)

Some of these posts are too long for me to care about. Brezz is right this forum used to be much more awesome. Even @s would troll on the regular. My feeling is Spade was bored and decided to have some fun (at noones expense). @yoyo was bored and got the sh*ts at what is basically a troll-worthy post. End result? Who cares. 22/08/2015 12:45
