I think it was possible a while ago, but the option was cancelled because it allowed many teams to "cheat", however I would like that too to be re-emplemented | 01/03/2015 16:55 |

I agree, it was a stupid decision to remove the 24h auctions. They do nothing to improve the game and the few they do is to make it worse. | 01/03/2015 17:23 |

What, precisely, is the problem that removing the 24h auction was asserted to solve? How is selling a player on the market cheating? Certainly, it disadvantages players who couldn't be on the market to observe/bid on the "good" player up for auction.. but that's quite literally always the case, and shouldn't be a consideration of any sort. Why is 48h unacceptable but 24h unacceptable? IMHO every player should be a 24h auction.. Having players on the market is always a DISADVANTAGE to the seller, who would rather have the certainty of getting the player sold. If you like any player but didn't get in on the auction... you could private msg the seller and agree after the 24h limit. |

The reason was because of junior auctions. Although it is not a violation of the rules, there are many instances where managers put a junior up for auction without a label or FC/prog showing in order to sell cheaply to a friend (because T/A are not available for 14-15 yr olds). It takes time for a GB search to finish, so making auctions 48hrs the minimum increases chances for other players to bid. It also takes money out of the game because there is a greater chance of a high prog player having large bids placed. This player here is a good example: http://en.strikermanager.com/inicio.php?accion=/jugador.php%3Fid_jugador%3D20379308 He was put on at $0 without any advertising. Managers who did GB searches found that he was 89+, 90+, or 91+ prog depending on the GB search they did. Other managers bid knowing that the player must be good because of the managers they saw bidding - i.e. managers who are not going to bid tens of millions on a worthless player. He went from $0 to over $100m then auctioned again with advertising to $216m. So there is a good reason for the change in auction times, it wasn't simply done to annoy. |
