In my game today, my opponent used 4 premiums, as he did last season. I understand this boost gives his players up to >2avg, if I'm not mistaken, on top of his already potent forward line.

I am in two minds over this.

1) SM is a great game, and those who developed/continue to develop it (no comments) or oversee it deserve to be paid for their efforts. I buy GBs to get ahead out of this principle. Today's opponent has used 32 premiums so far this season, at a cost of 1600 GB, and I doubt he will slow down. The devs are hardly going to be too hasty in putting a stop to this. It's no more unfair my opponent pretty much buying the win as it is me paying GB to get better coaches, or search for diamond juniors. Premiums are good for the game.

2) It's unfair as buying the ref. It's cowardly, and is not in the spirit of the sportsmanship or the game. The stats suggest that today I was in no means inferior in many aspects of the game, so the premiums may have made the difference. I wasn't beaten on tactics, luck or player ability/preparedness, so is one argument, so why is it that I should lose? Premiums are bad for the game.

What do you guys think?

This is the tactic I would employ as well or frankly, double his premium just because...but knowing Si he won't do that. At most he may match the premium use in the second leg.

As for me, I don't use them. Would rather win on my own merits. I do spend GB's for other things and will continue to do so if for no other reason than to keep the game alive as long as possible.
