It seems like the number of teams that get relegated makes it almost impossible to advance to a higher league. Instead, the lower leagues get stuck with these monster teams that weren't quite good enough to stay up but absolutely dominate one league down. I've been taking advantage of this fact this year. Last season I got relegated because of 1 goal on goal difference. This season I have a perfect win record and routinely win by at least 7 goals. Granted, it has allowed me to save money and build a better team so I may be able to stay in the higher division next season, but at the same time it seems incredibly unfair that I'm taking up one of the two promotion spots when I am clearly out-classing other teams in the division. This could be easily avoided by having fewer teams relegated and simply creating more groups in each division as necessary. Relegating 8 teams and only promoting 2 from each league is overpopulating division 4 especially with powerhouse teams that should probably be in division 3. Instead, I would suggest relegating the same number of teams that are promoted (even if it's only 2 and 2), that way some of these teams that are right on the edge of staying up now will stay up in the future and compete in a division that is much more balanced for their level. | 18/03/2014 17:20 |

-1 Actually, it would make promotion worse. Currently there is one Div 1 group, four Div 2 groups, 16 Div 3 groups etc. Two promote from each groups which means 8 must relegate from each group. If you limit the number of people relegating then you have to either limit the number who promote or expand the number of divisions below the current 7. There are some groups in Div 5 that have no relegation at all because there are not enough managers - they are filled out with sysbots. |

This current format of promotion and relegation makes managers competitive. You have to stay active throughout the season to make it. You have to keep up to avoid relegation and really workd hard to gain promotion. |
