I understand your frustration, but look at a game like FIFA, every year a new version comes out. Some people don't want to buy the new version, so they keep playing the old one. Yes there are less people on the game at that point, but there are still people playing it. Eventually that version of FIFA dies out because nobody is playing it. Eventually this server will die out, but there will still be some people playing it. If you plan on only playing this version, I wouldn't buy GB's until you know how long this one will probably be around, but otherwise it isn't as if this one will be gone in a few weeks.
