Depends on a lot of factors: what is his average, what is his progression, how upset will you be if he is hostiled. Check out the similar transactions to see what his market value is and start from there.

There is no perfect answer. Its up for you to decide what you think would be best.

think of one thing, will he still increase of average or not?
the first salary give your player a clause twice higher what he will get by resigning in senior, even the day after!
one of my OM got 1b clause for 600k, now 600k will clause him at less than 500m.
so if you plan on training up your player after promotion, better to clause him high for cheap when you can, otherwise you might need to resign already after few weeks/months for way more money
basically, spend a bit more now to save a lot later.

I've been setting mine at a million. They'll keep increasing in average, so like fahorax stated I won't need to resign them for 2 mill or whatnot. Excessive on my part? Maybe, but you get the point. 04/12/2013 01:59

Does salary/HC hv any effect on the avg development of the player? Ive been promoting my jr with 100M-150M HC....but its too slow for them to reach their forecast, while a 300-400M HC promoted jr keep on increasing rapidly. My jr n sr coach is 99. Is it because im in lower div? 04/12/2013 02:29
