Ok, guys this idea is just for speculation and fun and I know it will never happen, so just enjoy and feel free to comment

What do you guys think about having a second team? Here is how my idea would work out, its just for fun though:

-anyone can have a reserve team, but it will be expensive, around 25 mil per year
-add a div 8 so reserve teams could go no higher then div 6, means div 6,7,8 are for reserve teams and other teams
-you can move two players to your reserve team from your first team 2 times (just as temporary promotions)
-you can also move two players from your junior squad to reserve team (4 temp promotions for juniors, 2 reserve/2 first team)
-reserve team would play on the first team stadium, but only profit 40-50% of what the first team would profit from
-managers can use all of their money however they like, either investing evenly, more in first team or more in reserve team
-the PROBLEM however is that reserve team can have its own coach, but that coach can be NO higher the 80% (so training wont benefit too much)
-reserve team can play friendlies, have a separate cup, BUT WILL HAVE A SEPARATE SCHEDULE
-there will be a button for reserve team where you can create the teams formation, or use same one as first team

There are many good things and the ideas could go on forever, Why is this good for everyone if it costs 25 mil per season to have one and only some teams could afford it? well reserve teams won't be getting much money as only 40-50% of the stadium would be given to the reserve team and 80% maximum coach won't really help train players and the rich wouldn't get much richer, it would take a lot of thought to ACTUALLY PROFIT ON THIS, so many managers would only profit around 5-20 mil per season as lets say only WEEKENDS could not be used for gaming and there would be no games

What do you guys think? I know its a lot to read BUT keep in mind this is for DISCUSSION Purposes only and will 99% never happen

I like the idea in principle, and I can see positives and negatives of its implementation.

If you were to cap a reserve team's division at a certain level, wherever you put that boundary (you suggested Div 6, so let's work with that) it could make it more difficult to retain new managers. Those new managers that start in that division might struggle even more to stick with the game when a bunch of 60+avg reserve players descend from a Div 1,2, or 3 team, playing advanced formations designed by experienced managers compete against their 35avg team and their novice knowledge of advanced formations.

However, if we assume that no Div 1-4 teams are system bots (1280 teams), and then if all of those created a reserve team, and all of them started in a lower division, and all got however many promotions to reach their peak of Div 6, they would only make up around 8% of the available Div 6 places. However, this would result in an average of one or two reserve teams per Div 6 league, so while they would have very little impact on the overall competitiveness of the division, they would likely have a very high impact on who gets promoted from that league.

Now if we suppose that our new manager has to get past these one or two reserve teams to get promotion, it will take him many seasons on a Div 6 income level to reach the level of the reserve team's players, even if he became a better tactician than the reserve team's manager.

Ultimately, although it's a nice idea for the higher division clubs, it may prove to be too much of a barrier for new managers, which is something most of us would agree is a bad thing for the game.

How about just a reserve league? Like the junior league. Would be under another tab in board.
The manager can choose which reserve league to enter, i.e. Division 1 res, division 2 res etc. So they can start at the top, or work their way up.

Personally I don't really see the point. Devs might as well just say you can have a 2nd team if you pay 999M for it and can not do TA's ever 04/03/2013 10:09

I agree with almost everything sicox86 said. It's a good idea in principle, and could add a little depth to the game, but it's too much of a hindrance to new teams. I could probably put together a 50-60 average reserve team of high FC players I find, and I'm sure division 1 managers could do even better. The problem is then that these teams are going to crush division 6 teams with their superior averages and tactics and people aren't going to want to stick around the game if they see no way to compete with that.

Thats pretty much what i meant, add a different league for it and itll be fine, or let all new users start at ddiv6 or 5 and let all new reseserve teams start at 8 and possibly go up to 5
