As many of you know, there is a prize (GBs) at the end of the season for winning the group, and also having the top scorer in the group. Now in recent years we have all heard of the phenomenon of users from higher divisions hostiling lower division strikers to win the prize. This season is no different. Div2 Grp2 (my group) was being led in goals by Tobias "Mario Gomez" Friedrich http://en.strikermanager.com/jugador.php?id_jugador=500248 of Aix En Provence with 77 goals on the season. However, in an attempt to get the prize, Pansarmyrorna (a team in relegation) hostiled this loser one week ago: http://en.strikermanager.com/jugador.php?id_jugador=3477016 for 4.4m because he has 88 goals this season. NOT to be outdone, hhy, also a team in relegation with only 3 wins this season splurged 51M on Douglas Cortez http://en.strikermanager.com/historial.php?id_jugador=4354468 for his 156 goals to take the cake. I'm not really sure that it is cheating, but I do agree that the developers should stop it. I understand that it is not allowed to take advantage of a bug in the game, but to suggest that it constitutes cheating infers that the manager should be punished. Is there a difference between taking advantage of a bug and taking advantage of a situation? I would argue that there is. Manchester City could buy a Sunday league player who has scored 70 goals that season, and while this player would not win the Premier League top scorer award, nor would City be penalised for buying him. In this vein, the developers could simply cancel out the goals scored out of that player's division, but should not reprimand the manager. The ethical bias is questionable, but I do not see it as cheating any more than someone playing a ridiculously high offside trap. Ethically, both ruin the aesthetic appeal of the game, and infringe on its realism, and yet people call one cheating and the other tactics. |

Your example is comparing apples to oranges. ManCity wins nothing of value for signing that player. With this bug, the manager gets something of value in the form of 50 GBs. |
