Personally I'm for the new format. The Europa League isn't taken that seriously and has dropped hugely in quality over the years.
Ideally it should be just the Champ of each league that enters the Champs league, but that isn't gonna happen, so lets move on from that.

I think a 64 team league is maybe too big, but lets assume that's what they go with.
I guess it'll be 16 groups of 4 teams with home and away games.
It'll obviously reduce the overall quality in the Champs League,.

But it will allow a lot of clubs enter and help some of the domestic leagues around Europe.
Take Scotland. Each year it's Celtic or Rangers. Maybe an additional team can now enter, and from the extra revenue they earn, they can now start to challenge the top two.
In England, I guess there's be 2-3 extra teams added, so that'll be the top 7. Considering that there can be only a few points between the team that finishes 7th to the team that finishes 13th or 14th, it would add a lot more emphasis to these games/places. And these teams would benefit financially to allow themselves to improve and challenge those towards the top of their leagues.

Of course there are plenty of reasons that it isn't a good idea:
A lot of poorer teams playing games
A lot more mismatch games, i.e. a very strong team V's a considerably less talented team
Maybe too many games
Domestic Cups been further reduced with the lure of Champs League place by doing well in league 		28/11/2012 14:56

 as it will encourage more teams i like it but i think 64 teams r far too many.it will strech the no of games nd hence cause football fatigue and if they decide to increase the no of games per day then,which they will, it will only mean more good games missed. 28/11/2012 17:57
