What Should I do?
Build the VIP Section. You'll make more money than you think.
Buy players instead. You'll make more money in the end that way.
Build PRO seats and buy players. It's the best of both worlds.
Neither. Use your money for something else.

That is the question.

I'm trying to decide whether to build more PRO seats, save up for a week to build VIP seats, or use the money for something else.

If I started building a week from today, and finished a week after that, I'd have about 23 home games left.

Right now, I'm charging $75 for my PRO section. If I build a new $6m PRO section at that rate, I'd have about $10.3m in revenue from those 6k seats by the end of the season, assuming consistent attendance.

If I build an $18m VIP section, and charge $100 there, that would yield $13.8m in revenue by the end of the season, a $4m loss.

So the variable is price. When I build my VIP section, will attendance in all sections go up, so I can charge more for all seats? My break-even price, assuming a sold-out VIP section, would be $132. Could I charge that much and sell out?

Even if I could break-even by the end of the season, dropping $18m on improving my team average strikes me as a much better short-term and long-term move. I think buying 55 average players would give me much more than $18m revenue by the end of the season. My sponsor agreement is $5.9m for ending in the top 4. So if I had a 55 average team, and could pull that off, together with player sales, game day revenue, and borrowing, my sense (I haven't done the numbers) is that I could have $18m by the end of the season to build a VIP section then, and enough left over to enter the cheap off-season auction and hostile markets to guarantee promotion by the end of next season.

What do you guys think? What am I missing?

Ummm....If it were me I would build the pro seats first because they are cheaper and you'll still have money left over for whatever. So say in two weeks time you can have enough to build a section of VIP. Im not an expert though post this question in The main SM general forum and you'll get a proper answer. 06/10/2012 23:28

Alright, try and go for a VIP seats, its the last stage and indeed the begining of new era in your stadium and game income too,its can increase your income by 1m,
although it cost 18m 6000 vip which is equivalent to 18000 pro....but trying to build more pro that wont increase your income cant be compared to what that vip will do in short time.

For me, I would rather go for VIP seat, base on your current position in your league, no can can guarantee your promotion on this season even after you buy 2 or 3 players. If your current squad is enough for you to stay in your current division(avoid relegation), then go for VIP seat. Always build a strong foundation in this game. Always increase your income and you can afford better quality players. 07/10/2012 11:45

VIP seats, no doubt
First of all, you must secure the stability of your finance. With VIP seats, you can earn around 5 millions each match in 5th division. A lucky week you'll play three times, that makes 15 millions each week.
No more words are needed to say

Once you balance your stadium, or those weeks you only need to build general seats or so (the cheapest ones, I mean), you can invest your money on improving your team.

I just couldn't make the math work to justify the VIP build.

I may do it next season (or after an early promotion, if I'm lucky) when my cash flow is more secure.

But I did build more pro and generals. Together with being fairly high on the board, that's given me an extra $1m per game or so.
